Answer: Silver nitrate is the chemical reagent used to distinguish.

Explanation:

Dissolve both compounds in water. And add silver nitrate to that solution.

1. In case of calcium chloride

The calcium chloride is soluble in water and thus forms ions in aqueous solution. The chloride ions present in the solution react with silver ions of silver nitrate to give white color precipitate of silver chloride.

2AgNO_3+CaCl_2\rightarrow 2AgCl(white)+Ca(NO_3)_2

2. in case of calcium carbonate.

The calcium carbonate is poorly soluble in water. Since, it doesn't get dissolved in water.

When silver nitrate is added there will be no formation of any precipitate.

A chemical reagent that is used in this experiment is silver nitrate (AgNO3). It is used to distinguish calcium chloride and calcium carbonate. when this reagent is used, silver from silver nitrate reacts with Chloride to calcium chloride and forms silver chloride, making a precipitates of white color.

What is the mass in grams of 9.76 x 10 12 atoms of naturally occurring sodium?
Fiesta28 [93]
The number of moles in a substance indicates the amount of the substance that contains the same number of particles as 12 g of the Carbon-12 isotope [or equivalent to 6.02 × 10²³] (which is used as a standard in the world of moles).

Now,

if     6.02 × 10²³ atoms are found in 1 mole ofsodium
then let  9.76 × 10¹² atoms are found in     x

⇒     x  =    (9.76 × 10¹² )  ÷  (6.02 × 10²³)

            =  1.619 × 10⁻¹¹ mol

Now, mass = moles × molar mass

∴ mass of Na = 1.619 × 10⁻¹¹ mol ×  23 g/mol
                      = 3.72 × 10⁻¹⁰ g

Why do bicycles use gears
iren2701 [21]
It is for safety if you come to a sudden stop like newtons law say if an object is in motion it stays in motion until a force stops it if the bike suddenly stopped then you would fly off because you wold still be going. and the gear helps protect you.
