Caleb's parent drove him to a swim meet 208 km away. It took them 2 hours, which included a 15-minute break to refuel. What was their average driving speed?

NB – The driving speed does not factor in the stop time

Distance covered =208 km

Driving time is 2 hours (120 minutes) – 15 minutes

Driving Speed = 105 minutes

Driving Speed in hours = 1.75 hours

Speed = Distance/Time

Average driving speed = 208 ÷ 1.75

Average driving speed = 118.86 KPH

A simple pendulum consists of a point mass suspended by a weightless, rigid wire in a uniform gravitation field. Which of the fo
alex41 [277]

Answer:

The period is proportional to the square root of the length of the wire.

The period is independent of the suspended mass.

Explanation:

The period of a simple pendulum, in the small angle oscillation approximation, is given by

T=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L}{g}}

where

L is the length of the pendulum

g is the acceleration due to gravity

From the formula, we notice the following facts:

- The period is proportional to the square root of the length of the wire, L

- The period is independent of the suspended mass, m

So, these are the two correct statements.

How do I determine which object has the greatest acceleration?
IceJOKER [234]

To determine which object has the greatest acceleration, you would use the formula:

acceleration = (Final Velocity - Initial Velocity) / Time

Just plug-in values for what you have and see which one has the greatest acceleration. If you're given velocity-time graphs, then the one with the steepest slope would have the greatest acceleration.
