Chemical reaction 1: HNO₃(aq) + H₂O(l) → NO₃⁻(aq) + H₃O⁺(aq).
Chemical reaction 2: CO₃²⁻(aq) + H₂O(l) → HCO₃⁻(aq) + OH⁻(aq).
According to Bronsted-Lowry theory acid are donor of protons and bases are acceptors of protons (the hydrogen cation or H⁺).
In first reaction:
1) HNO₃(nitric acid) is hydrogen-ion donor and water is hydrogen-ion acceptor.
2) HNO₃ is acid and NO₃⁻ is conjugate base.
In second reaction:
1) water is hydrogen-ion donor and CO₃²⁻ hydrogen-ion acceptor.
2) CO₃²⁻ is base and HCO₃⁻ is conjugate acid.

For each pair; which has higher kinetic energy?
RideAnS [48]

Explanation:

Kinetic energy is defined as the energy obtained by an object due to its motion. Whereas energy obtained by an object due to its position is known as potential energy.

(a) When a sled is resting at the top of a hill then it means the sled in not moving. Hence, then it has only potential energy. But when a sled sliding down the hill then it is moving from its initial position.

Hence, when a sled is sliding down the hill then it has higher kinetic energy.

(b) When water is above the dam then it only has potential energy but when the water falls over the dam then it has higher kinetic energy.

Which of the following will produce a precipitate?
nekit [7.7K]

Reaction of option c produces precipitate.

Rhodium on reacting with potassium phosphate produces rhodium phosphate which remain in solution due to low lattice energy for rhodium phosphate.

Niobium on reacting with lithium carbonate produces niobium carbonate and it will remain in aqueous form.

Cobalt on reacting with zinc nitrate produces cobalt nitrate. This, Co(NO3 )2 is insoluble precipitate and settles at bottom whereas zinc ion will remain in solution as follows:

Co^2^+ + Zn(NO¬_3 )¬_2 Co(NO¬_3 )¬_2 + Zn^2^+

Potassium ion on reacting with sodium sulfide produces potassium sulfide which remain in solution

If you set up an experiment with two different independent variables, then the results would be_____.
MariettaO [177]

Answer: A) Inconclusive; you would not know which of the two variables caused the change.

Explanation:

When you set up an experiment, you must make sure that you control the variables such that only one independent variable changes at a time, while all the remainder conditions (the other independent variables) are controlled (fixed).

By observing (measuring) the dependent variable, while only one independent variable changes you can understandhow such independent variable explains (determines) the dependent variable, leading to a conclusion.

Conversely, if two or more independent variables change at a time, then there is no way that you can tell how the output (dependent variable) is related with one or other of the changes of the indipendent variables. You wolud not be able to discriminate (distinguish) the effect of one or other variable, making the experiment inconclusive

I really hope this answer helps you out! It makes my day helping people like you and giving back to the community that has helped me through school! If you could do me a favor, if this helped you and this is the very best answer and you understand that all of my answers are legit and top notch. Please mark as brainliest! Thanks and have a awesome day!
