We know the lenght of the side adjacent to angle A, AC, and we want to know the opposite side, BC. What trig ratio describes the relationship between opposite and adjacent? The Tangent!

tan (x) = opp / adj
In this case, tan (45°) = BC / 4
To get BC by itself, multiply both sides by 4
4 * tan (45°) = BC

The answer is D

does anyone know how to help me with the letters in math, i dont understand it, and i need help, someone please? if you can can
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Letters are variables and those variable can store a number

Ex: x=5  y=2

evaluate : 3x+2y

we know that x is 5, so we know that 3x would be 15

we know that y is 2, so we know that 2x would be 4

then it says to add 3x and 2y, we would add 15 and 4 to get 19

(This is a very simple example, when you get older, the expression would be much more confusing.

Question 2 (5 points)
IrinaK [193]

Answer:

x - y + 5 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Line passes through (-2,3) and (2,7)

Required:

  • Find the equation of the line

The equation of the line passing through two points is given by

\frac{y-y_{1} }{y_{2}- y_{1} } =\frac{x_{}- x_{1} }{x_{2} -x_{1} }

So, \frac{y-3}{7-3} =\frac{x-(-2))}{2-(-2)}

\frac{y-3}{4} =\frac{x+2}{2+2}

\frac{y-3}{4} =\frac{x+2}{4}

Now, y-3 = x+2

On rearranging,

x - y + 3 + 2 = 0x - y + 5 = 0

Therefore, the equation of the line is x - y + 5 = 0.
