Yep.  I think I can.

Horizontal motion doesn't speed up or slow down.

                              distance                 =  (speed) x (time)

                                5.4 m                   = (3.5 m/s) x (time)
Divide each side
by  3.5 m/s:              (5.4 m) / (3.5 m/s)  =                 time

                               time  =  1.543 seconds   (rounded) .

That's how much time the stone took to fall from the bridge to the water.

Now we can go on to the vertical distance:
Do you remember this physics formula for falling distance ?

                    Distance  =  (1/2) (gravity) (time)²

                   Distance   =  (1/2) (9.8 m/s²) (1.543 sec)²

                                   =    (4.9 m/s²)    x    (2.38 sec²)

                                   =        11.7 meters .

If he leaves the ramp with a speed of 31.0 m/s and has a speed of 29.5 m/s at the top of his trajectory, determine his maximum h
raketka [301]

Answer:

The maximum height reached is 4.63 m.

Explanation:

Given:

Initial speed of the man (u) = 31.0 m/s

Speed at the top of trajectory (u_x) = 29.5 m/s

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s²

When the man reaches the top of the trajectory, the vertical component of velocity becomes zero and hence only horizontal component of velocity acts on him.

Also, since there is no net force acting in the horizontal direction, the acceleration is zero in the horizontal direction from Newton's second law. Thus, the horizontal component of velocity always remains the same.

So, speed at the top of trajectory is nothing but the horizontal component of initial velocity.

Now, initial velocity can be rewritten in terms of its components as:

u^2=u_x^2+u_y^2

Where, u_x\ and\ u_y are the initial horizontal and vertical velocities of the man.

Now, plug in the given values and simplify. This gives,

(31.0)^2=(29.5)^2+u_y^2\\\\961=870.25+u_y^2\\\\u_y^2=961-870.25\\\\u_y^2=90.75\ m^2/s^2--------1

Now, we know that, for a projectile motion, the maximum height is given as:

H=\frac{u_y^2}{2g}

Plug in the value from equation (1) and 9.8 for 'g' to solve for 'H'. This gives,

H=\frac{90.75}{2\times 9.8}\\\\H=4.63\ m

Therefore, the maximum height reached is 4.63 m.

The parachute on a drag racing car deploys at the end of a run. If the car has a mass of 820 kg and the car is moving 36 m/s, wh
Lelechka [254]

In order to determine the required force to stop the car, proceed as follow:

Calculate the deceleration of the car, by using the following formula:

v^2=v^2_o-2ax

where,

v: final speed = 0m/s (the car stops)

vo: initial speed = 36m/s

x: distance traveled = 980m

a: deceleration of the car= ?

Solve the equation above for a, replace the values of the other parameters and simplify:

\begin{gathered} a=\frac{v^2_o-v^2}{2x} \\ a=\frac{(36\frac{m}{s})^2-(0\frac{m}{s})^2}{2(980m)}=0.66\frac{m}{s^2} \end{gathered}

Next, consider that the formula for the force is:

F=ma

where,

m: mass of the car = 820 kg

a: deceleration of the car = 0.66m/s^2

Replace the previous values and simplify:

F=(820kg)(0.66\frac{m}{s^2})=542.20N

Hence, the required force to stop the car is 542.20N

Changing the speed of a synchronous generator changes A) the frequency and amplitude of the output voltage. B) only the frequenc
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

A) the frequency and amplitude of the output voltag

Explanation:

Changing the speed of a synchronous generator changes both the output voltage (amplitude of the wave) and frequency as they tend to increase.

Changing the speed regulator will change the engine throttle setting to maintain the speed.

While the power, torque, current, fuel flow rate and torque angle will have decreased.

Block B has mass 6.00 kg and sits at rest on a horizontal, frictionless surface. Block A has mass 2.50 kg and sits at rest on to
zzz [600]

Answer:

Explanation:

Block A sits on block B and force is applied on block A . Block A will experience two forces 1) force P and 2 )  friction force in opposite direction of motion . Block B will experience one force that is force of friction in the direction of motion .

Let force on block A be P . friction force on it will be equal to kinetic friction, that is μ mg , where μ is coefficient of friction and m is mass of block A

friction force = .4 x 2.5 x 9.8

= 9.8 N

net force on block A = P - 9.8

acceleration = ( P - 9.8 ) / 2.5

force on block B = 9.8

acceleration = force / mass

= 9.8 / 6

for common acceleration

( P - 9.8 ) / 2.5  = 9.8 / 6

( P - 9.8 ) / 2.5 = 1.63333

P = 13.88 N .

Do you have to keep citing the same source
emmasim [6.3K]
I don't think so as long as you make it apparent that the information comes the same source. So citing over and over again is unnecessary as long as it's clear that the information is from the same website or source. If you can't make it clear that they are from the same website source, it would a safe choice to continue to cite to avoid allegations of plagiarism.
