Thing measurement you have to know here is that 1 ton is equal to 2000 pounds.  with this information, you can change 1/5 ton into pounds using a simple conversion shown below
1/5 ton x 2000 pounds/1 ton = 400 pounds
400 is less than 500 so Nina's truck can carry more weight

Nina's truck holds more, because Brent's pick-up holds 1/5 a ton, and a ton is 2000 pounds, so 2000 x 1/5 is 400, and is less than Nina's truck.

How many odd integers are there between 101 and 999 have distinct digits?
guapka [62]
Every number will have only 3 digits. In the ones place, there are 5 choices. For every choice of digit made in the ones place, there are 8 possible choices for the hundreds place (you can choose from 1-9, omitting whatever is used in the ones place), and there are 8 possible choices for the tens place (you can choose from 0-9, omitting whatever has already been used elsewhere).

So there are 7\cdot8\cdot8=320 such numbers.

Add or subtract. Write the result in the form a+bi
STALIN [3.7K]

Number 1: (-1+2i)+(6-9i)

Group\:the\:real\:part\:and\:the\:imaginary\:part\:of\:the\:complex\:number\\\left(a+bi\right)\pm \left(c+di\right)=\left(a\:\pm \:c\right)+\left(b\:\pm \:d\right)i\\=\left(-1+6\right)+\left(2-9\right)i\\=5-7i

Number 2: (3-3i)-(4+7i)

Group\:the\:real\:part\:and\:the\:imaginary\:part\:of\:the\:complex\:number\\\left(a+bi\right)\pm \left(c+di\right)=\left(a\:\pm \:c\right)+\left(b\:\pm \:d\right)i\\=\left(3-4\right)+\left(-3-7\right)i\\Refine\\=-1-10i

Number 3: (-5+2i)+(-2+8i)

Group\:the\:real\:part\:and\:the\:imaginary\:part\:of\:the\:complex\:number\\\left(a+bi\right)\pm \left(c+di\right)=\left(a\:\pm \:c\right)+\left(b\:\pm \:d\right)i\\=\left(-5-2\right)+\left(2+8\right)i\\Refine\\=-7+10i
