Is nitrogen reactive or stable and why???

Hello There!

1 nitrogen atom is reactive because it has 5 electrons in its valence shell and therefore needs to gain or lose them.
However, two nitrogen atoms bonded together aren't very reactive at all.

I think it would be pretty reactive, because it is flammable but it need something  to set it off like fire or small explosion.
