Answer. Methane molecule is made up of five atoms; four of hydrogen and one of carbon. Carbon atom is sharing its 4 valence electrons with 4 hydrogen atoms each having 1 electron.

Explanation:

Dalton model of atom said that the matter is made up of smallest indivisible particle that is an atom. From which he predicted that methane molecule will be made up one carbon atom and 4 hydrogen atoms.

Quantum model of atom described the structure of atom with the help of four quantum numbers. These number explained the position, magnetic character and spin of electrons  inside the atom. and further explained the sharing of electron between one one carbon and 4 hydrogen atoms.

Hence from these two models we can predict that methane molecule is made up atoms with sharing of electrons.

4.4\times 10^{-4}=\frac{(0.050\times \alpha)^2}{(0.050-0.050\times \alpha)}

(\alpha)=0.089

percent ionisation =0.089\times 100=8.9\%
