Vanyuwa [196]

Sound waves are mechanical waves, longitudinal waves, and do no transmit in a vacuum

Explanation:

Sound waves are periodic disturbance of a medium that generates that are produced when a rapid vibration of an object produces a similar periodic vibration in the particles of a medium. Therefore, sound waves are the periodic vibrations of the particles in the medium.

Sound waves are classified as longitudinal waves. Longitudinal waves are those in which the particles of the medium vibrate in a direction parallel to the direction of propagation of the wave: therefore, the particles vibrate back and forth along the direction of motion of the wave.

Sound waves are able to travel through different mediums: gases, liquids and solids. In particular, they travel faster in solids than liquids, and in liquids than gases, because the particles in solids and liquids are closer together, so the transmission of the wave is more efficient.

Sound waves are also classified as mechanical waves, which are waves that transmit through the vibrations of the particles in a medium. For this reason, sound waves cannot propagate if there is no medium: therefore, sound waves cannot propagate in a vacuum.

How can humans increase the rate of endangered of extinct species
labwork [276]

I would think A. Reduce Environmental Impacts.

If you build and populate more zoos, some of the endangered species might not be able to survive in captivity

If you introduce new predators they are going to kill all the endangered species and if you pass new laws about land use some people may kill the species

A student carries a backpack for one mile. Another student carries the same backpack for two miles
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

Compared to the first student, the second student did twice as much work as the first student.

Explanation:

The work done by the first student will be equal to the Force exerted by the backpack on the student carrying it multiplied by one mile (Distance).  The work done by the second student will be equal to the Force exerted by the backpack on the student carrying it multiplied by two miles (Distance).
