You are visiting a winery for a wine tasting. A large storage barrel (diameter 4.4 m) is filled to a height of 250 cm. The barre

l has on its top a small hole to guarantee contact with the atmospheric pressure. The tap of the barrel is at a height of 12 cm from the bottom of the barrel. The opening of the tap faces towards you and does not point downward.If you hold your wine glass at the same height level as the bottom of the barrel, how far away from the tap do you have to hold the glass so that the wine stream hits it exactly? Answer in units of cm

Answer:

V = 6.83 m/s

t = 0.6969s

Explanation:

Distance (s) of wine above the tap = height of the barrel - height of the tap

S = (250 - 12)cm = 238cm

S = 2.38m

From equation of motion,

V² = u² + 2gs

Where u = initial velocity = 0m/s

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8m/s²

V² = 2gs

V = √(2 * 9.8 * 2.38)

v = √(46.648)

v = 6.8299 ≈ 6.83m/s

b). Time it took for the wine to reach the cup

S = ut + ½gt²

Since u = 0

S = ½gt²

T = √(2s / g)

t = √[(2 * 2.38) / 9.8]

t = 0.6969s

Coal and other fossil fuels are considered to be "nonrenewable" sources of energy. How does the use of nonrenewable fuels affect
nignag [31]

Answer: D Although the total energy remains constant, nonrenewable fuels convert chemical energy into forms that are difficult or impossible to use again.

Explanation:

The first law of thermodynamics says that energy can neither be created nor destroyed; energy can only be transferred or changed from one form to another.

Mercury is 0.39 AU from the sun. What is its distance from the sun in kilometers?
qaws [65]

Answer:

0.39AU = 58344000 [km] or 58.500.000 [km]

Explanation:

This is a problem that consists simply in converting units:

AU = astronomic unit

1 [AU] = 1.496*10^{8} [km]\\0.39 [AU] = x\\\\Therefore\\x = \frac{0.39*1.496*10^{8} }{1} \\x = 58344000[km]

The two spheres pictured above have equal densities and are subject only to their mutual gravitational attraction. Which of the
kiruha [24]

Answer:

Gravitational force

Explanation:

If two spheres have equal densities and they are subject only to their mutual gravitational attraction. We need to say that the quantities that must have the same magnitude for both spheres. So, the correct option is (E) i.e. gravitational force.

It is because of Newton's third law of motion. It states that the force due to object 1 to object 2 is same as force due to object 2 to object 1. The two forces act in opposite direction.

Hence, the correct option is (E) "Gravitational force".
