53.14 grams of ZnCl_{2}  will be produced from 26.0 g of Zn and 42.0 g of HCl.

Explanation:

Balanced chemical reaction:

Zn + 2 HCl ⇒ ZnCl_{2} +  H_{2}

data given:

mass of Zn = 26 grams

mass of HCl = 42 grams

mass of ZnCl_{2} = ?

here in the reaction Zn is the limiting reagent so mass of

ZnCl_{2} formed will be determined by it.

atomic mass of zinc =65.38 grams/mole

number of moles = \frac{mass}{atomic mass of 1 mole}

putting the values in the above equation:

number of moles of zinc = \frac{26}{65.38}

number of moles of zinc = 0.39 moles

From the balanced reaction it is seen that

1 mole of Zn produced 1 mole of ZnCl_{2}

0.39 moles will produce x moles of ZnCl_{2}

0.39 moles of ZnCl_{2} (atomic mass of  Zn = 65.38 grams/mole)

mass = atomic mass x number of moles

         = 0.39 x 136.28

           = 53.14 grams

53.14 grams of ZnCl_{2} is formed

1. Sodium hydroxide reacts with carbon dioxide according to the equation: 2NaOH(s) + CO2(g) →
Leno4ka [110]

The limiting reagent when 5 g of NaOH and 4.4 g CO₂  allowed to react will be NaOH

<h3>What is Limiting reagent ?</h3>

The limiting reactant (or limiting reagent) is the reactant that gets consumed first in a chemical reaction and therefore limits how much product can be formed.

Given chemical equation in balanced form ;

2NaOH(s) + CO₂(g) → Na₂CO₃(s) + H₂O(l).

According to the Chemical equation ;

  • The limiting reagent when 5 g of NaOH and 4.4 g CO₂  allowed to react will be NaOH

    If 44 g CO₂ requires 80 g of NaOH, therefore, 4.4 g CO₂ will require atleast 8 g of NaOH.

    But the available quantity is 5 g NaOH. thus, NaOH is the Limiting reagent.

  • 6.625 g of Na₂CO₃ are expected to be produced 5.0 g of NaOH and 4.4 g of CO₂ are allowed to react

    As 80 g NaOH produces 106 g of Na₂CO₃.

    Therefore 5 g NaoH will produce ;

    106 / 80 x 5 = 6.625 g

5. Calcium carbonate decomposes at 12000 C to form carbon dioxide and calcium oxide. If 25 liters of carbon dioxide are collecte
Anika [276]

Answer:

5)0.53liters

6)1.634.6°c

Explanation:

using \:  charles \: law \\ v1 \div t1 = v2 \div t2

5) v1=25liters, t1=12000°c. v2=?, t2=250°c

v2=(250×25)/12000

v2=6250/12000

v2=0.52liters

6)v1=130,v2=85, t1=2500, t2=?

t2=(85×2500)/130

t2=212500/130

t2= 1634.6°c
