The attraction between the shared electrons and the nuclei that holds the molecules together in the second energy level of phosphorus atom is a covalent bond. Electrons are kept in the orbit around the nucleus by the electromagnetic force and the protons in the nucleus are held in place by the strong nuclear force, which overcomes the electromagnetic repulsion.

If a sample has a mass of 245.8 grams and takes up 94ml of space, what is the density of the sample?
allochka39001 [22]

To find the density of any sample, you need to know the Mass (grams), and its Volume (measured in mL or cm³). Divide the mass by the volume in order to get a sample's Density.

Density (P)= Mass(m)/Volume(V)

P=m/V

P=245.8grams/94ml

P=2.65grams per ml

Two gas samples have the same number of molecules, the same volume, and the same pressure. Which of the following could be true?
OverLord2011 [107]
The choices are:
A. The first gas sample has a temperature of 273 K, and the second gas sample has a temperature of 0°C.
B. The first gas sample has a temperature of 273 K, and the second gas sample has a temperature of 298 K.
C. The first gas sample has a temperature of 273 K, and the second gas sample has a temperature of 273° C.
D. The first gas sample has a temperature of 273 K, and the second gas sample has a temperature of 100° C.

The correct answer is A because the two gases will have the same temperature and 273 K = 0°C

How many grams of Cl2 are consumed to produce 12.0 g of KCl?
Alla [95]

The reaction is:

Cl2 + 2 KBr --> 2 KCl + Br2

Moles of KCl is

n = m /M = 12 /74 = 0.16 mol

As, twice the moles of KCl is producing from 1 mol of chlorine

mole of Cl2 = 0.16 /2 = 0.08 mol

Mass of Cl2

m /70 = 0.08 = 5.6 g

Hence, 5.6 g mol Cl2 consumed to produce KCl
