The fisherman rowed a total of 22.4 miles.

<u><em>Explanation</em></u>

Suppose, the distance from his starting point to the turn around point is d mile.

Given that, upstream speed is 2 mph and downstream speed is 8 mph.

We know that,  Time= \frac{Distance}{Speed}

So, the time required to row d miles upstream = \frac{d}{2}  hours and the time required to row d miles downstream = \frac{d}{8}  hours.

As the entire trip took 7 hours, so the equation will be......

\frac{d}{2}+\frac{d}{8}= 7\\ \\ 8(\frac{d}{2}+\frac{d}{8})= 8*7\\ \\ 4d+d= 56\\ \\ 5d= 56\\ \\ d= \frac{56}{5}=11.2

So, the fisherman rowed a total of (11.2×2) miles = 22.4 miles

at one scholl at prep level there were 5 set of twins,two sets of triplets and one set of quadruplets starting school this year.
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:  Fraction of twins = \frac{5}{8} Fractions of triplets = \frac{1}{4} Fractions of quadruplets = \frac{1}{8}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of set of twins = 5

Number of sets of triplets = 2

Number of sets of quadruplets = 1

Total number of sets is given by

5+2+1=8

Now, we need to find the fraction of those students.

So, Fraction of twins is given by

\frac{5}{8}

Fractions of triplets is given by

\frac{2}{8}=\frac{1}{4}

Fractions of quadruplets is given by

\frac{1}{8}
