In general, a scientific law is the description of an observed phenomenon. It doesn't explain why the phenomenon exists or what causes it. The explanation of a phenomenon is called a scientific theory. It is a misconception that theories turn into laws with enough research.

How do you think scientists figure out what they think the population will be in 2050?
laila [671]
They would most likely use statistics on the increase/decrease in population from previous decades and centuries. In addition to these statistics, they could use the birth and death rate and ultimately predict the increase within these next 30 years. They must also take climate change and other environmental factors into consideration when formulating such a bold prediction.

Find the acceleration of a train whose speed increases from 7m/s to 17 m/s in 120s
Ksenya-84 [330]
Initial speed of the train = 7 m/s
Final speed of the train = 17 m/s
Change of speed of the train = (17 - 7) m/s
                                               = 10 m/s
Time taken for the change of the speed of the train = 120 s
Then
Acceleration of the train = Change of speed of the train/Time taken for the change of speed
                                       = 10/120 m/s^2
                                       = 1/12 m/s^2
                                       = 0.083 m/s^2
So the acceleration of the train is 1/12 meter per second square or 0.083 m/s^2. I hope this is the answer you were looking for.

Answer:

The kinetic molecular theory of matter asserts that: Matter is made up of particles that are continually moving. All particles contain energy, however the energy fluctuates depending on the temperature the sample of matter is in. This in turn decides whether the material exists in the solid, liquid, or gaseous form.

Hope it helps:)

A 1500 kg car traveling to the north is slowed down uniformly from initial velocity of 20 m/s by a 6000 N braking force acting o
aev [14]

Answer:

12 m/s

Explanation:

Given data

Mass m= 1500kg

intitial velocity u= 20m/s

force F= 6000N

time t= 2 seconds

Required

The final velocity v

From

Ft= mΔv

Ft= m(u-v)

substitute

6000*2= 1500(20-v)

solve for v

12000= 30000- 1500v

collect like terms

12000-30000= -1500v

-18000= -1500v

divide both sides by  -1500v

v= 18000/1500

v=12 m/s

Hence the velccity is 12 m/s
