How many grams of FeCl 3 are in 250. mL of a 0.100 M solution?
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

The correct answer is option B

Explanation:

$Molarity=\frac{Weight}{Molecular \,weight} \frac{1000}{V(in \, ml)}

Given values,

Molarity of $FeCl_3=0.100M$

Volume of solution, $V=250ml$

Molecular weight of $FeCl_3=162.2$

Substituting this values in Molarity formula, we get

$0.1=\frac{weight}{162.2} \times\frac{1000}{250} $\\$\Rightarrow 16.22=weight\times4$\\$\Rightarrow weight=\frac{16.22}{4} $\\$\therefore weight=4.06g$

300 moles of sodium nitrite are needed for a reaction. the solution is 0.450 m. how many ml are needed?
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

\boxed{\text{667 000 mL}}

Explanation:

\text{Molar concentration} = \dfrac{\text{moles}}{\text{litres}}\\\\c = \dfrac{n}{v}

Data:

c = 0.450 mol·L⁻¹

n = 300 mol

Calculation:

\begin{array}{rcl}0.450 & = & \dfrac{300}{V}\\\\0.450V& = & 300\\\\V & = & \dfrac{300}{0.450}\\\\V & = & \text{667 L} =\textbf{667 000 mL}\end{array}\\\text{The volume of solution needed is }\boxed{\textbf{667 000 mL}}

What is the pH of a 0.28 M solution of ascorbic acid
Nady [450]

Hey there!

Values Ka1 and Ka2 :

Ka1 => 8.0*10⁻⁵

Ka2 => 1.6*10⁻¹²

H2A + H2O -------> H3O⁺  + HA⁻

 Ka2 is very less so I am not considering that dissociation.

Now Ka = 8.0*10⁻⁵ = [H3O⁺] [HA⁻] / [H2A]

lets concentration of H3O⁺  = X then above equation will be

8.0*10−5 = [x] [x] / [0.28 -x

8.0*10−5 = x² /  [0.28 -x ]

x² + 8.0*10⁻⁵x  - 2.24 * 10⁻⁵

solve the quardratic equation

X =0.004693 M

pH = -log[H⁺]

pH = - log [ 0.004693 ]

pH = 2.3285

Hope that helps!
