Which level of an energy pyramid has the most energy available?

Chemistry

VikaD [51]3 years ago

7. A

The energy pyramid is simply going from the bottom having the most energy, and the top having the least. The most energy in the energy pyramid is provided by the producers. The producers are at the bottom of the energy pyramid. They are the basis of all ecosystems. The producers have the most energy because they are the ones that manage to produce food for themselves, thus they provide 100% energy, while all other levels have 10% of the previous level of the energy pyramid.

8. coyote

The trophic levels are simply divided into autotrophs, which are the ones that produce the food for themselves, primary consumers, which are feeding on the producers, and secondary consumers, which are feeding on the primary consumers. In the category of secondary consumers we have the predators. The predators are the ones that eat the primary consumers, and the coyote is falling into this category. The coyote is a predator, from the canidae family, being a carnivore that preys upon herbivores.

9. True

The invasive species are the species that have managed to reach and inhabit places that are not their native territory. This can happen in a natural way, or because of the humans. The invasive species are usually much more competitive than the native species. They manage to take their food sources, prey upon them with ease, reproduce much quicker, as well as introducing new diseases. All of that results in in easy expansion of the invasive species, while the native species decrease or even go extinct.

10. It would decrease because the greenfly population would decrease

The ladybird, or ladybug, is falling into the category of secondary consumers, thus they are predators. They feed upon small insects, mostly that are considered as pests, such as the greenfly. The greenfly is feeding on the berries. If the berry population starts to decrease, then the greenfly population will decrease as well, as the food source will be smaller. The ladybird population will too start to decrease, as the greenfly population, its prey, will be decreasing because of the decrease in the berry population.

Question 21 of 25
Nady [450]

Answer:

B. Acid + base = salt + water

Explanation:

In accordance to the proposal of a scientist called Svante Arrhenius, an acid is a substance that increases the H+ concentration of a solution by dissociating into it while the base increases the OH- concentration of a solution by dissociating into it. Furthermore, Arrhenius stated that this two ions combine in an aqueous solution to give water.

Hence, Arrhenius acid-base reaction is the combination of an acid and base to produce salt and water as products. That is; Acid + base = salt + water.

Energy that is associated with the position or composition of an object is called a kinetic energy. b potential energy. c therma
VLD [36.1K]
<h2>The required "option is b) potential energy".</h2>

Explanation:

  • The energy which is associated with the motion of the object is called kinetic energy.
  • The energy which is associated with the amount of heat released is known as thermal energy.
  • The energy which is released during a chemical reaction is known as chemical energy.

Therefore, option (a), (c), and (d) are incorrect.

  • The energy which is possessed by a stationary object or associated with the position of an object is called as potential energy.
  • Hence, the correct option is potential energy.

Calculate the wavelength of the photon emitted when an electron makes a transition from n=6 to n=3. You can make use of the foll
Angelina_Jolie [31]

<u>Answer:</u> The wavelength of light is 1.094\times 10^{-6}m

<u>Explanation:</u>

To calculate the wavelength of light, we use Rydberg's Equation:

\frac{1}{\lambda}=R_H\left(\frac{1}{n_f^2}-\frac{1}{n_i^2} \right )

Where,

\lambda = Wavelength of radiation

R_H = Rydberg's Constant  = 1.097\times 10^7m^{-1}

n_f = Final energy level = 3

n_i = Initial energy level = 6

Putting the values in above equation, we get:

\frac{1}{\lambda }=1.097\times 10^7m^{-1}\left(\frac{1}{3^2}-\frac{1}{6^2} \right )\\\\\lambda =\frac{1}{914617m^{-1}}=1.094\times 10^{-6}m

Hence, the wavelength of light is 1.094\times 10^{-6}m

A solution is made by dissolving
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

0.342 m

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Mass of NaBr = 14.57 g

Mass of water = 415 g

Molar mass of NaBr = 102.89 g/mol

Molality of NaBr =?

Next, we shall determine the number of mole in 14.57 g of NaBr. This can be obtained as follow:

Mass of NaBr = 14.57 g

Molar mass of NaBr = 102.89 g/mol

Mole of NaBr =?

Mole = mass / molar mass

Mole of NaBr = 14.57 / 102.89

Mole of NaBr = 0.142 mole

Next, we shall convert 415 g of water to kg. This can be obtained as follow:

1000 g = 1 Kg

Therefore,

415 g = 415 g × 1 Kg / 1000 g

415 g = 0.415 Kg

Thus, 415 g is equivalent to 0.415 Kg.

Finally, we shall determine Molality of the solution as follow:

Mole of NaBr = 0.142 mole

Mass of water = 0.415 Kg

Molality of NaBr =?

Molality = mole / mass of water in Kg

Molality of NaBr = 0.142 / 0.415

Molality of NaBr = 0.342 m

Therefore, the molality of NaBr solution is 0.342 m.
