The mineral is probably TALC.
Talc is white in colour, it has a dull luster and is very soft, which means that it can be scratched by finger nail. Another mineral which has properties that is almost the same with that of talc is calcite. It is also white in colour and is easily scratched by finger nail, but in its own case, the luster is dull and glassy.

A 0.25 kg steel ball is tied to the end of a string and then whirled in a vertical circle at a constant speed v. The length of t
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the tension in the string be T . At the top of the circle , total force acting on them = T + mg . This will provide centripetal force

T + mg = m v² / r

4 + .25 x 9.8 = .25 x v² / .62

6.45 = .25 v² / .62

v² = 16

v = 4 m /s .

A typical mattress has a network of springs that provide support. If you sit on a mattress, the springs compress. A heavier pers
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

Explanation:

Spring has a tendency to store energy in them and deform its shape when force is applied on it. Once the applied force is removed it regains its original shape and size.

It is in helical shape and is used in mattress to give structure and support. Spring have elastic nature and follows spring forces, F = k * x

where is the applied force, k is the spring constant and x is the amount of extension.

When a heavier person sits on a mattress, more weight is applied on springs and they form coils, as weight is removed they regains its shape again.

The formula is x = 1/2 at^2 and I have managed to fill in the variables as this. d = 1/2 9.81 m/s^2 1^2
Artyom0805 [142]

Right, as you mentioned in the comments, you find d by plugging in the different values of t.

For t=1\,\mathrm s, we have

d=\dfrac12\left(9.81\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s^2}\right)(1\,\mathrm s)^2

d=\left(4.905\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s^2}\right)\left(1\,\mathrm s^2\right)

d=4.905\,\mathrm m

Similarly, for t=2\,\mathrm s, you get

d=\dfrac12\left(9.81\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s^2}\right)\left(2\,\mathrm s\right)

d=\left(4.905\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s^2}\right)\left(4\,\mathrm s^2\right)

d=19.62\,\mathrm m
