Explanation:

Chemical change is defined as those change in which arrangement of atoms present in the substance changes and leads to formation of new substance.

1.The after-rain smell is produced by an interaction between rain and the oils released by plants. Due to chemical reaction between the rain water and oils secreted out by the plants

2. A homemade volcano can be created by combining baking soda and vinegar. When it erupts, carbon dioxide gas is released. When vinegar reacts with baking soda  carbon-dioxide gas is released.

CH_3COOH+NaHCO_3\rightarrow CO_2+H_2O+CH_3COONa

3.The Statue of Liberty has turned green over time due to the reaction of copper with ,oxygen,carbon dioxide and water.

Cu+O_2+CO_2+H_2O\rightarrow Cu_2(OH)_2CO_3

Physical change is defined as those changes which leads to change in shape, size or state of the substance changes. No new substance is formed.

A ladder is slipping down a vertical wall. If the ladder is 10 ft long and the top of it is slipping at the constant rate of 4
Andrei [34K]

Answer:

Speed will be: 1.33ft/s

Explanation:

If ladder is 10 ft long and bottom is 8 ft from the wall then by Pythagoras theorem we can find the height of the wall where ladder touches. (before it started slipping)

10^2 = 8^2 + x^2

thus x^2 = 100 - 64 = 36

Giving x= 6 ft. If the ladder is falling with a speed of 4ft/s it will take 1.5 seconds to cover the 6ft distance.

This shows that the bottom of ladder will travel from 8ft to 10 ft in 1.5 seconds. Thus covering 2 ft in 1.5 seconds making the speed to be:

v = S / t

v = 2 / 1.5

v = 1.33 ft/s

Energy can be changed from one form to another. Which terms can be used to describe these changes? Select all that apply.
aliya0001 [1]

Energy is the capacity to do work. Energy exists in various forms in the entire universe.

It  may be light,sound,electric,magnetic,kinetic,potential,thermal energy etc.

As per the law of conservation of energy, it is neither created not destroyed. It can change from one form to another form.The total energy of the universe is always constant.

The process in which energy will change from one form to another form is called energy conversion.

There is also another terminology for energy conversion called energy transformation.

Energy transference is the process in which energy will be transferred from one body to another body.

Hence the correct answer to this question will be conversion and transformation

An object initially at rest experiences an acceleration of 0.281 m/s2 to the South for a time of 5.44 seconds. It then increases
andre [41]

Answer:

12.0 meters

Explanation:

Given:

v₀ = 0 m/s

a₁ = 0.281 m/s²

t₁ = 5.44 s

a₂ = 1.43 m/s²

t₂ = 2.42 s

Find: x

First, find the velocity reached at the end of the first acceleration.

v = at + v₀

v = (0.281 m/s²) (5.44 s) + 0 m/s

v = 1.53 m/s

Next, find the position reached at the end of the first acceleration.

x = x₀ + v₀ t + ½ at²

x = 0 m + (0 m/s) (5.44 s) + ½ (0.281 m/s²) (5.44 s)²

x = 4.16 m

Finally, find the position reached at the end of the second acceleration.

x = x₀ + v₀ t + ½ at²

x = 4.16 m + (1.53 m/s) (2.42 s) + ½ (1.43 m/s²) (2.42 s)²

x = 12.0 m

Answer:. Victoria's statement is not correct as the objects have the opposite accelerations, however free-falling objects should have the same downward acceleration gGraph

My explanation further from the graph will be that there are opposite bodies, one is accelerating with time , why the other is decelerating with time.
