Answer: Option (d) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

In a nucleus, there exists both protons and neutrons whereas electrons revolve around the nucleus.

Protons are positively charged whereas neutrons have no charge. Since protons have positive charge so they repel each other generating electrostatic force of repulsion.

Whereas neutrons form a nuclear binding energy which helps to overcome this electrostatic force of repulsion and therefore, binds the protons and neutrons together in a nucleus.

So, when there are more number of protons than neutrons then the atom will become unstable because then nuclear binding energy cannot overcome the electrostatic force of repulsion of protons.

Thus, we can conclude that out of the given options, a curium (Cm) atom with 96 protons and 85 neutrons would be expected to be an unstable atom.

A Curium atom (Cm) with 96 protons and 85 neutrons would be the most unstable atom. This is because there is an imbalance of protons and neutrons.

Which of the following is a characteristic of active galaxies? A. They generally exhibit no signs of explosive activity. B. Thei
Virty [35]

Answer:

The correct option is B

Explanation:

Active galaxies are characterized by a small core of emission at the center which is usually brighter than the rest of the galaxy. The energy emitted from active galaxy is way more than that emitted from normal galaxy. As compared to normal galaxy where it's energy emission is thought to be the sum of the emission from each star found in the galaxy, this is not true or the same in active galaxy. There (active galaxy) huge energy emission cannot be explained as the sum of the emission of their stars.

Here as we can see that weight on the right side of ruler given as D is applying torque about the fulcrum this is counter balanced by weight on left side given as A

now by torque balance we can say

W_aL_a = W_bL_b

now we will have

W_a = W_b\times \frac{L_b}{L_a}

now here as per given setup we can see that

L_b > L_a

so here we will have

W_a > W_b

so the weight required to hold D will be more and correct answer will be

The setup increases the amount of force required to lift the block and, therefore, decreases your mechanical advantage.
