Physics

Answer: Option (d) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

In a nucleus, there exists both protons and neutrons whereas electrons revolve around the nucleus.

Protons are positively charged whereas neutrons have no charge. Since protons have positive charge so they repel each other generating electrostatic force of repulsion.

Whereas neutrons form a nuclear binding energy which helps to overcome this electrostatic force of repulsion and therefore, binds the protons and neutrons together in a nucleus.

So, when there are more number of protons than neutrons then the atom will become unstable because then nuclear binding energy cannot overcome the electrostatic force of repulsion of protons.

Thus, we can conclude that out of the given options, a curium (Cm) atom with 96 protons and 85 neutrons would be expected to be an unstable atom.

A Curium atom (Cm) with 96 protons and 85 neutrons would be the most unstable atom. This is because there is an imbalance of protons and neutrons.

Nresistors, each having resistance equal to 1 2, are arranged in a circuit first in series and then in parallel. What is the rat
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

option (b)

Explanation:

Let the resistance of each resistor is R.

In series combination,

The effective resistance is Rs.

rs = r + R + R + .... + n times = NR

Let V be the source of potential difference.

Power in series

Ps = v^2 / Rs = V^2 / NR ..... (1)

In parallel combination

the effective resistance is Rp

1 / Rp = 1 / R + 1 / R + .... + N times

1 / Rp = N / R

Rp = R / N

Power is parallel

Rp = v^2 / Rp = N V^2 / R    ..... (2)

Divide equation (1) by equation (2) we get

Ps / Pp = 1 / N^2

A manufacturer claims its cleanser works twice as fast as any other. Could test be performed to support the claim? Explain
lora16 [44]

Yes, a test could be performed to support the claim.

Hypothesis: The claim that a manufacturer’s cleanser works twice as fast as any other cleanser.

So, based from this hypothesis, we can perform the following tests:

We assign Cleanser A to the manufacturer that claims that their cleanser works twice as fast as any other cleanser and Cleanser B to the cleanser to be compared with.

1.       Get two tiles and put the same amount of stain on them.

2.       Apply Cleanser A on the first tile and Cleanser B on the second tile.

3.       Apply the same amount of force in removing the stains on both tiles

4.       Record the amount of time it takes to remove the stains on each tile.
