Physics

Answer: Option (d) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

In a nucleus, there exists both protons and neutrons whereas electrons revolve around the nucleus.

Protons are positively charged whereas neutrons have no charge. Since protons have positive charge so they repel each other generating electrostatic force of repulsion.

Whereas neutrons form a nuclear binding energy which helps to overcome this electrostatic force of repulsion and therefore, binds the protons and neutrons together in a nucleus.

So, when there are more number of protons than neutrons then the atom will become unstable because then nuclear binding energy cannot overcome the electrostatic force of repulsion of protons.

Thus, we can conclude that out of the given options, a curium (Cm) atom with 96 protons and 85 neutrons would be expected to be an unstable atom.

A Curium atom (Cm) with 96 protons and 85 neutrons would be the most unstable atom. This is because there is an imbalance of protons and neutrons.

The magnitude of the Poynting vector of a planar electromagnetic wave has an average value of 0.939 W/m^2 . The wave is incident
Alchen [17]

Answer:

47 mW

Explanation:

The average value of the Poynting vector, S = 0.939 W/m² = Intensity of wave, I

S = I S

Also, I = P/A where P = Et, P = power of electromagnetic wave, E = energy of electromagnetic wave in time t and t = time = 1 min = 60 s and A = area = lb since the electromagnetic waves falls on area equal to that of a rectangle.

So, S = Et/A

E = SA/t

= Slb/t

= 0.939 W/m² × 1.5 m × 2.0 m/60 s

= 2.817 W/60 s

= 0.047 W

= 47 mW

So, 47 mW of electromagnetic energy falls on the area in 1.0 minute.

What is a result of using a machine?
GenaCL600 [577]
Using a machine can speed up work very quickly as machines are way faster than humans. Machines also do not get exhausted unlike humans so can work over a long period of time non stop.
