If particle motion is slowing, the particles are losing energy, which means that heat is flowing out of the substance. This also means that it is transferring its energy to another substance which has less energy than the first object. Heat is directly correlated to energy, which is related to the particles' movement. If the particles are slowing, heat is leaving the object.

Adding energy (heating) atoms and molecules increases their motion, resulting in an increase in temperature.Removing energy (cooling) atoms and molecules decreases their motion, resulting in a decrease in temperature.Energy can be added or removed from a substance through a process called conduction.In conduction, faster-moving molecules contact slower-moving molecules and transfer energy to them.During conduction the slower-moving molecules speed up and the faster-moving molecules slow down.Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the atoms or molecules of a substance.Heat is the transfer of energy from a substance at a higher temperature to a substance at a lower temperature.Some materials are better conductors of heat than others.

uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

The answer to your question is:

Explanation:

There are two kinds of cell transport passive transportation and active transportation.

Passive transportation does not need energy because molecules move from higher concentration to lower concentration.

Active transportation needs energy because molecules moves against concentration.

a. facilitated diffusion It's an example of passive transportation so this answer is wrong.

b. passive transport Molecules move in favor of concentration so this answer is wrong.

c. osmosis is another example of passive transport so this answer is wrong.

d. simple diffusion it's another example of passive transport, so it's wrong this answer.

e. active transport this is the right answer.

An AC adapter for a telephone answering machine uses a transformer to reduce the line voltage of 120 V to a voltage of 5.00 V. T
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

35

Explanation:

We are given that

Initial voltage,V_1=120 V

Final voltage, V_2=5 V

Number of tuns in primary coil of the transformer, N_p=840

Rms current, I_{rms}=580mA=580\times 10^{-3} A

1 mA=10^{-3} A

We have to find the number of turns  are there on the secondary coil.

We know that

\frac{N_s}{N_p}=\frac{V_2}{V_1}

Using the formula

\frac{N_s}{840}=\frac{5}{120}

N_s=\frac{5}{120}\times 840=35

Hence, there are  number of turns on the secondary coil=35

Steve and Jose drove Jose's car to the beach during Spring Break. The 495 kilometer drive took them 8 hours and 30 minutes. What
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

58.24 Km/h.

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Distance (d) = 495 Km

Time (t) = 8 h 30 mins

Speed (S) =?

Next, we shall express 8 hours 30 mins to hours.

We'll begin by convert 30 mins to hour.

60 mins = 1 h

Therefore,

30 mins = 30 mins × 1 h/ 60 mins

30 mins = 0.5 hour.

Thus,

8 h 30 min = 8 + 0.5 = 8.5 hours

Speed is define as the distance travelled per unit time. Mathematically, it is expressed as:

Speed = Distance /time

With the above formula, we can obtain the speed as shown below:

Distance (d) = 495 Km

Time (t) = 8.5 hour

Speed (S) =?

Speed = Distance /time

Speed = 495 Km / 8.5 hour

Speed = 58.24 Km/h

Thus, the speed is 58.24 Km/h.

Which of the following statements is accurate?
cupoosta [38]

Answer: A and B

Explanation:

A

The wavelength of both transverse and longitudinal waves is measured parallel to the direction of the travel of the wave.

Because wavelength is the distance between the two successful crest or trough.

B)

Amplitude of longitudinal waves is measured at right angles to the direction of the travel of the wave and represents the maximum distance the molecule has moved from its normal position.

Because amplitude is the measure of maximum displacement from the original position
