A cart on an air track is moving at 0.5m/s when the air issuddenly turned off. THe cart comes to rest in 1m. The experimentis re

peated with the cart moving at 1 m/s when the air is turnedoff. How far does the cart travel before coming to rest?

Answer:

D = 4 m

Explanation:

Speed of cart in air track v₁ = 0.5 m/s

Speed of cart moved when air is turned off v₂= 1 m/s

The distance travelled by the cart is d₁ = 1 m

Work done (W) = F x d

Work done is equal to the kinetic energy

F x d = 1/2mv²

velocity is directly proportional to distance

therefore,

v₁²/ v₂²  = d₁ / d₂

d₂ = d₁v₂² / v₁²

= 1 m x (1 m /s)² / (0.5 m/s)²

= 4 m

Your own car has a mass of 2000 kg. If your car produces a force of 5000 N, how fast will it accelerate?
Sidana [21]

Answer:

2.5m/s²

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of car  = 2000kg

Force produced by the car  = 5000N

Unknown:

Acceleration of the car  = ?

Solution:

According to Newton's second law of motion, Force is a product of mass and acceleration.

  Force  = mass x acceleration

Now, insert the parameters and find the unknown;

  5000 = 2000 x acceleration

   Acceleration  = \frac{5000}{2000}   = 2.5m/s²

You perform a double‑slit experiment in order to measure the wavelength of the new laser that you received for your birthday. Yo
BigorU [14]

Answer:

\lambda = 6.25\times10^{-9}= 625 nm

Explanation:

We now that for

for maximum intensity(bright fringe) d sinθ=nλ n=0,1,2,....

d= distance between the slits, λ= wavelength of incident ray

for small θ, sinθ≈tanθ= y/D where y is the distance on screen and D is the distance b/w screen and slits.

Given

d=1.19 mm, y=4.97 cm,  and,   n=10,   D=9.47 m

applying formula

λ= (d*y)/(D*n)

putting values we get

\lambda = \frac{1.19\times10^{-3}\times4.97\times10^{-2}}{9.47\times10}

on solving we get

\lambda = 6.25\times10^{-9}= 625 nm

Which of these statements is true about endothermic reactions, but not about exothermic reactions?
sashaice [31]
I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is the second option. For endothermic reactions, the reactants have less energy than the products. Which would mean that energy should be added to the reaction for it to proceed. Hope this answers the question.

A circular wire loop of radius 15.0 cm carries a current of 2.60
Korolek [52]
Part (a): Magnetic dipole moment

Magnetic dipole moment = IA, I = Current, A = Area of the loop
Then,
Magnetic dipole moment = 2.6*π*0.15^2 = 0.184 Am^2

Part (b): Torque acting on the loop
T = IAB SinФ, where B = Magnetic field, Ф = Angle
Then,
T = Magnetic dipole moment*B*SinФ = 0.184*12*Sin 41 = 1.447 Nm
