How can you tell if an element is a solid,liquid,gas or synthetic

Chemistry

It all depends on how high or low an objects melting point is. and solid, liquid, and gases are states of matter, you have to play with the temperatures of objects.

But most of the elements on the periodic table are solid at room temperature except gases hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine and chlorine, the “noble” gases helium, neon, argon, xenon, krypton and radon, and the liquids bromine and mercury. The only liquid elements at standard temperature and pressure are bromine (Br) and mercury (Hg). Although, elements cesium (Cs), rubidium (Rb), Francium (Fr) and Gallium (Ga) become liquid at or just above room temperature.

The mostly red pic are the solids, the pic with only two highlighted squared are liquids, the pic with the row of squares are the gases, and the last pic (with dark background) are the synthetic elements

Hope this helps.

In nature, 1.07% of the atoms in a carbon sample are C-13 atoms. Show a numerical setup for calculating the number of C-13 atoms
Vera_Pavlovna [14]
If we let x be the number of sample which contains the atoms of carbon (C). Given that according to study, the amount of atoms in carbon sample that are C-13 atoms is 1.07%, the mathematical set-up that would represent the sample is,
                               = (0.0107)(C)

Compare and contrast the properties of halogens & alkali metals
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

Physical Properties

Alkali metals are good conductors of heat and electricity while halogens are poor conductors of heat and electricity.

Only specific to Alkali metals: They are soft and can be cut by knife.

Chemical Properties

Alkali metals have 1 valence electron while halogens have 7 valence electrons.

Alkali metals react with non-metals to form ionic compounds while halogens react with non-metals to form covalent compounds.

You can also look at the trends ( melting/boiling point, reactivity) down their group.

liraira [26]

Answer:

d=4.5  g/cm³

Explanation:

v=l x w x h

v=2 x 3 x 2.5

v=15 cm³

d=m/v

d=67.5/15

d=4.5  g/cm³
