Answer:

4km/hr

Explanation:

speed=distance÷time

total distance=8+3+5=16km

time in hours =15÷60=0.25hrs

speed=16÷0.25

speed=4km/hr

On a spinning ride at the fair, it is inertia that keeps you moving in a circle. true or false
lions [1.4K]

False, the inertia does not keep us moving in a circle on a spinning ride at the fair.

Answer: Option B

<u>Explanation: </u>

Inertia is the resisting force of any object which resists in change in their state. If an object is moving the inertia will act in opposing direction to the force acting on the object stopping its motion.

Similarly, if an object resembles at rest, then the inertia will be acting against the force tending to move that stationary object. So, on a spinning ride at fair, when a person sits there, the inertia acting on the person will prevent the person to falling down from the fair and not in moving in a circle.

Hello, I wanted an answer from a mathematician. The number 1.04 is closer to the number 1, 2, 1.25 or 1.5.
babymother [125]

Answer:

Explanation:

Of the 4 numbers given, the answer is 1 or A

If you take the absolute value of abs(1 - 1.04) you get 0.04.

(2 - 1.04) = 0.96

1.25 - 1.04 = .21

1.5 - 1.04 = 0.46

The last three are all larger than 0.04

Note: absolute value means the positive difference between 2 numbers (even  though it is negative). If it is negative, absolute value makes it positive.

A force of 25N acts on a mass of 5.0kg, initially at rest. Calculate the distance travelled before achieving a velocity of 20m/s
spin [16.1K]

Answer:

40m

Explanation:

let's calculate the acceleration first

force = mass × acceleration

rearranging to find acceleration:

acceleration = force ÷ mass

force = 25N, mass = 5.0kg

acceleration = 25 ÷ 5 = 5ms^-2

we can now use the formula v^2 = u^2 + 2as where v = final velocity, u = initial velocity, a = acceleration and s = distance

rearranging v^2 = u^2 + 2as the distance is

s = (v^2 - u^2) ÷ 2a

v = 20, u = 0, a = 5

s = (20^2 - 0^2) ÷ (2 × 5) = 40m

the distance is 40m

A(n) 12500 lb railroad car traveling at 7.8 ft/s couples with a stationary car of 7430 lb. The acceleration of gravity is 32 ft/
navik [9.2K]

To solve this problem we will apply the concepts related to the conservation of momentum. That is, the final momentum must be the same final momentum. And in each state, the momentum will be the sum of the product between the mass and the velocity of each object, then

\text{Initial Momentum} = \text{Final Momentum}

m_1u_1 +m_2u_2 = m_1v_1+m_2v_2

Here,

m_{1,2}= Mass of each object

u_{1,2}= Initial velocity of each object

v_{1,2}= Final velocity of each object

When they position the final velocities of the bodies it is the same and the car is stationary then,

m_2u_2 = (m_1+m_2)v_f

Rearranging to find the final velocity

v_f = \frac{m_2u_2}{ (m_1+m_2)}

v_f = \frac{ 12500*7.8}{ 12500+7430}

v_f = 4.8921ft/s

The expression for the impulse received by the first car is

I = m_1 (v-u)

I = \frac{W}{g} (v-u)

Replacing,

I = \frac{12500}{32.2}(4.89-7.8)

I = -1129.65lb\cdot s

The negative sign show the opposite direction.
