A scientifc theory is as close as you can get to total fact as can possibly get. before a hypothises becomes a theory it needs to be tested and peer reviewed. example might be evolution theory or germ theory.
Laws are things that are facts and you can observe it all the time. example might be gravity.

A scientific law<span> is a statement based on repeated experimental observations that describes some aspects of the universe. A </span>scientific law<span> always applies under the same conditions, and implies that there is a causal relationship involving its elements.</span>A scientific theory<span> is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported </span>theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world.

Which statements describe functions of the backbone? Check all that apply.
Ronch [10]

Answer:

A and E

Explanation:

Backbone is the part of skeletal system and is made of 26  vertebrae in total. The backbone and bones of lower limbs together serve to support the body's weight. Backbone surrounds and protects the spinal cord. Since the vertebrae of backbone are joints together by synovial joints, it allows the flexibility and movement of organisms.

The two isotopes of chlorine are LaTeX: \begin{matrix}35\\17\end{matrix}Cl35 17 C l and LaTeX: \begin{matrix}37\\17\end{matrix}C
Kay [80]

<u>Answer:</u> The percentage abundance of _{17}^{35}\textrm{Cl} and _{17}^{37}\textrm{Cl} isotopes are 77.5% and 22.5% respectively.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Average atomic mass of an element is defined as the sum of masses of each isotope each multiplied by their natural fractional abundance.

Formula used to calculate average atomic mass follows:

\text{Average atomic mass }=\sum_{i=1}^n\text{(Atomic mass of an isotopes)}_i\times \text{(Fractional abundance})_i   .....(1)

Let the fractional abundance of _{17}^{35}\textrm{Cl} isotope be 'x'. So, fractional abundance of _{17}^{37}\textrm{Cl} isotope will be '1 - x'

  • <u>For _{17}^{35}\textrm{Cl} isotope:</u>

Mass of _{17}^{35}\textrm{Cl} isotope = 35 amu

Fractional abundance of _{17}^{35}\textrm{Cl} isotope = x

  • <u>For _{17}^{37}\textrm{Cl} isotope:</u>

Mass of _{17}^{37}\textrm{Cl} isotope = 37 amu

Fractional abundance of _{17}^{37}\textrm{Cl} isotope = 1 - x

Average atomic mass of chlorine = 35.45 amu

Putting values in equation 1, we get:

35.45=[(35\times x)+(37\times (1-x))]\\\\x=0.775

Percentage abundance of _{17}^{35}\textrm{Cl} isotope = 0.775\times 100=77.5\%

Percentage abundance of _{17}^{37}\textrm{Cl} isotope = (1-0.775)=0.225\times 100=22.5\%

Hence, the percentage abundance of _{17}^{35}\textrm{Cl} and _{17}^{37}\textrm{Cl} isotopes are 77.5% and 22.5% respectively.

Karolina [17]
In order to clasify these based on the type of polymer they are made from, we can say that B. <span>Leather shoes are made from natural polymers; raincoats are made from synthetic polymers, is the most accurate option from the ones you are giving me. Hope this is useful</span>

Explain the metallic and non metallic behavior of an element based on its position in the periodic table
mash [69]

Answer:

Metallic character refers to the level of reactivity of a metal. Non-metallic character relates to the tendency to accept electrons during chemical reactions. Metallic tendency increases going down a group. Non-metallic tendency increases going from left to right across the periodic table.
