Answer:

A. Wab > 0.

Explanation:

Work done will be equal to change in gravitational energy in the whole process .

When Masses M₁ and M₂ are initially separated by a distance Ra

their gravitational energy

= - G M₁ M₂ / Ra

When mass M₂ is now moved further away from mass M₁ such that their final separation is Rb

their gravitational energy

= - G M₁ M₂ / Rb

Change in gravitational energy

= - G M₁ M₂ / Rb - ( - G M₁ M₂ / Ra )

= G M₁ M₂ / Ra - - G M₁ M₂ / Rb

= G M₁ M₂ ( 1 / Ra - Rb )

As Ra < Rb

1/Ra > 1 / Rb

So change in gravitational energy is positive

So

Wab > 0.

Snezhnost [94]
If you have studied enzymes its a similar concept. Cells have proteins on the surface of their cell which hormones bind to (called receptors) The receptor must be a complimentary shape to the hormone for it to bind. Only target cells have the receptor with the complimentary shape so only these cells will be affected.

If the bond enthalpy for a C-H bond is 413 kJ, what will happen when the C-H bond is broken?
pentagon [3]

Explanation:

Bond Enthalpy : It is defined as amount of energy required to break a the particular bond in there gaseous state. It is also known as bond energy. It units are kJ/mol.

 • Breaking of a bond is an Endothermic process (energy absorbed from the surroundings).
 • Formation of bond is an Exothermic process (energy is released to the surroundings).

If the average bond enthalpy for a C-H bond is 413 kJ/mol, When the C-H bond breaks in which energy will be required ,which will be an endothermic reaction.
