Answer:

The image distance is 13.3 cm  ⇒ answer B

Explanation:

* Lets study the information in the problem

- The distance between the object and the convex lens is 40.0 cm

- The lens focuses light at a distance of 10.0 cm

- The equation of the image distance is d_{i}=\frac{d_{o}f}{d_{o}-f}

 where di is the image distance, do is the object distance and f is the

 distance of the focuses lens

* Lets solve the problem

∵ do = 40.0 cm

∵ f = 10.0 cm

∵ d_{i}=\frac{d_{0}f}{d_{o}-f}

- Substitute the values of do and f in the equation

∴ d_{i}=\frac{(40.0)(10.0)}{(40.0)-(10.0)}=\frac{400.0}{30.0}=\frac{40}{3}

∴ di = 13.3333 ≅ 13.3 cm

* The image distance is 13.3 cm

a ball is projected with a certain angle with initial velocity u. it covers horizontal range R. With what initial velocity it mu
Elena L [17]

Answer:

1.5 u

Explanation:

The range equation is:

R = u² sin(2θ) / g

When u = v, R = 2.25 R.

2.25 R = v² sin(2θ) / g

2.25 u² sin(2θ) / g = v² sin(2θ) / g

2.25 u² = v²

1.5 u = v

Newton's Laws
Sergio [31]

Answer:They are equal and act in opposite directions.

Explanation:Newton's third law of motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. In the case of Bode's rocket, the pressurized air in the bottle forces the water to gush downward out of the bottle, causing the rocket to launch upward into the air. The force of the water gushing downward is equal to the upward force on the rocket. So, the two forces are equal and act in opposite directions.
