What would the product look like if ROOR weren't used?

Chemistry
1 answer:
S_A_V [24]3 years ago
4 0

Answer:

The least substituted product (anti-Markovnikov)

Explanation:

The ROOR is used in the addition reaction of HBr to an organic substance (an alkene for example).

In normal conditions (with no ROOR) the adition of the halogen will be performed in the most substituted C (following the rule of Markovnikov that says that the stability increases with the more substituted is the C).

But in presence of ROOR, the reaction takes other mechanism (free radicals), and the product in this case is the one with the Br added in the least substituted C.

What can you conclude about these two reactions based on the chemical equations? Reaction A: 6CO2(g) + 6H2O(l) + sunlight ? C6H1
OlgaM077 [116]

Given reactions:

(A)   6CO2(g) + 6H2O(l) + sunlight → C6H12O6(aq) + 6O2(g)

(B)  2H2(g) + O2(g) → 2H2O(g) + energy

Exothermic reactions are those which proceed with the release of heat/energy. In contrast, endothermic reactions proceed with the absorption of energy in the form of heat or light.

Since reaction A required sunlight, it is endothermic. Reaction B releases energy, hence exothermic

Ans: (B)

A is endothermic

B is exothermic

maria [59]
The compound NaCI is an example of a salt. Salt is formed from a neutralization action of an acid and a base. From the type of reaction itself, we can say that the pH should be neutral or at pH 7.0. No matter what type of acid or base is used.

Based on the periodic table why are be, bg, ca and sr in the same column/group/family?
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

The elements are in the same column/group IIA.

See the explanation below, please.

Explanation:

The elements Calcium, Strontium, Beryllium, Magnesium, Barium and Radio, belong to the group of alkaline earth metals located in group IIA of the periodic table, they require 2 electrons to complete their octet (they have 2 valence electrons). reagents than alkali metals.
