It would be a really bad idea to eat the snow because you obviously are trying to stay warm right? Well, the best thing to do is melt the snow. However, the process of melting the snow would have a few complications as well. But yes, the latter idea (drinking the snow) is a better idea (not the best).

A 762 kg car experiences a braking force of 9045 N and skids to a stop in 4.3 seconds. What is the speed of the car just before
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

The solution for this problem is:

We will be using the formula for force which is F = ma

=>10,000 = 2000 * a

but we need to solve for acceleration so divide both sides by 2000, we will get:

=>a = 5 m/s^2

Let the initial velocity was u m/s

=>By v = u - at

=>0 = u - 5 x 6

Since acceleration is constant the velocity can be computed by multiplying the acceleration by 6 seconds.

=>u = 30 m/s

While John is traveling along a straight interstate highway , he notices that the mile marker reads 248 km. John travels until h
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

I'm just going to tell you the information you need but not the answer so you can learn from the problem.

Explanation:

So he was at 248 km mark and traveled 99 km to get to the 149km mark. Then he turns around to go back 18 km to the 167 km mark. That is all the information you need to complete the question I recommend drawing it out in your notes.

Lelu [443]

The easiest way to answer this question is just to get the answer first. The answer is A with the added comment that no chemical reaction has taken place.

Layered means that the chemicals are not soluble in one another. B is not the answer.

C is eliminated by what what was said about A.

D a solution is not a pure substance (singular) by itself. There are at least 2 chemicals together.

irius, the brightest star in the sky, is 2.6 parsecs (8.6 light-years) from Earth, giving it a parallax of 0.379 arcseconds. Ano
Norma-Jean [14]

The actual distance of Regulus from Earth is 23.81 parsecs.

Given:

Parallax of Regulus, p = 0.042 arc seconds

Calculation:

When an observer changes their position, an apparent change in the object's position takes place. This change can be calculated using the angle ( or semi-angle) made by the observer and object i.e. the angle made between the two lines of observation from the object to the observer.

Thus from the relation of parallax of a celestial body we get:

S = 1/ tan p ≈ 1 / p

where S is the actual distance between the object and the observer

            p is the parallax angle observed

Here for Regulus, we get:

S = 1 / p

  = 1 / (0.042)                                     [ 1 parsecs = 1 arcseconds ]

  = 23.81 parsecs

We know that,

1 parsecs = 3.26 light-years = 206,000 AU

Converting the actual distance into light years we get:

23.81 parsecs = 23.81 × (3.26 light yrs) = 77.658 light-years

Therefore, the actual distance of Regulus from Earth is 23.81 parsecs which is 77.658 in light years.
