The rock will continue to travel in a straight line with a constant velocity for ever... The reason is, once it leaves your hand there is no force acting on the rock, so it will just continue to move in a natural motion which is constant velocity.
the engine won't start or it sputters when it should be running perfectly. if the gasoline is old and stale, it will have lost a portion of its volatility. the lighter components of the gasoline (remember, gasoline is a mixture of different hydrocarbons) have probably evaporated off or disappeared.
Fossil fuels are non-renewable resources and create greenhouse gases. While cheaper now to burn fossil fuels, within fifty years we will run out and have to turn to other sources of energy. Hope this helps!!!
