Suppose our experimenter repeats his experiment on a planet more massive than Earth, where the acceleration due to gravity is g=

30 m/s2. When he releases the ball from chin height without giving it a push, how will the ball's behavior differ from its behavior on Earth? Ignore friction and air resistance.
A. It will take more time to return to the point from which it was released.
B. It will smash his face. It will take less time to return to the point from which it was released.
C. It will stop well short of his face.
D. Its mass will be greater.

Answer:

B It will takes less time

Explanation:

Let's analyze this problem as a free fall with a greater acceleration of gravity, let's calculate the time it takes to reach the ground

     Y = Vo + + ½ at2

In this case Vo is zero and a = -30 m / s2

     Y = - ½ to t²

     t= √2y / a

     t =√ 2y / 30

Earth's time is t2 = √2y / 9.8

      t < t2

We can see that the time it takes for the ball to reach the floor is reduced, the rise time is the same as the drop.  The total time would be 2t on the massive planet and on Earth 2t2

So by comparing the results with those obtained on Earth the ball takes less time to return to the point of departure

The San Andreas fault puts Californians at great risk for major earthquakes and tsunamis. True False
Vesna [10]
True.

The San Andreas fault, though it has not shaken for quite a few years, is, as scientists are saying, getting ready to create one of the largest earthquakes known. A sudden and destructive movement of plates can move the water located above, creating a large wave (tsunamis) that can overflow and flood parts of the Western Coast of the Americas.

hope this helps

Describe how light is used in modern forms of communication.
Kobotan [32]

Answer:Visible light communication (VLC) is a wireless method that uses light emitted by LEDs to deliver networked, mobile, high-speed communication similar to Wi-Fi, leading to the term Li-Fi. It can be used as standalone solution or in a supplementary role to radio-frequency (RF) or cellular network communication

What would happen if you took a really strong metal box and you started teleporting in hundreds and hundreds of small cotton bal
mojhsa [17]
It will not explode since the mass of the cotton balls is so low but rather will most likely break the lock and hinges and come out.

A water skier has a mass of 79.0 kg and accelerates at 1.40 m/s2. What is the net force acting on him? F = ___ N
marysya [2.9K]
The answer is 111.

Using Newton's Second Law, F=ma, plugging known values in we get:

F = (79kg)(1.4m/s^2) = 110.6N ≈ 111N
