Answer:

The force exerted by the brakes on the motor car is -7500 N.

Explanation:

<u>Given :-</u>

  • Mass of the motor car along with passengers (m)= 1000 kg
  • Initial velocity (u) = 108 km/h
  • Time taken (t) = 4 s

<u>To find :-</u>

  • The force exerted by the brakes on the motor car.

<u>Solution :-</u>

Since the car stops, the final velocity (v) will be 0 m/s.

• Initial velocity (u) = 108 km/h.

Converting initial velocity into m/s.

We know that,\sf{1\:km/h=\dfrac{5}{18}\:m/s}

Then initial velocity,

= [108 × 5/18 ] m/s

= 30 m/s

Now find the force exerted by the brakes.

★ Formula used :

{\boxed{\sf{F=\dfrac{m(v-u)}{t}}}}

  •    [put values]

:\implies \sf \: F= \dfrac{1000(0 - 30)}{ 4} \\ \\ : \implies \sf \: F \: = \dfrac{ - 30000}{4} \\ \\ : \implies \sf \: F \: = - 7500

<u>The force exerted by the brakes on the motor car = -7500 N</u>.

•The negative sign of force(F) means that the force was applied in opposite direction of motion.

Answer: - 7500N

Explanation:

Given the following :

Initial Velocity of car = 108km/hr

Time taken to stop after applying brakes = 4s

Mass of passengers in car = 1000kg

Force exerted by the brakes on the car =?

After 4s, then final Velocity (V) = 0

Initial Velocity (u) of the car = 108km/hr

108km/hr = (108 × 1000)m ÷ (3600)s = 30m/s

Force exerted = mass(m) × acceleration(a)

Acceleration of car = Change in Velocity with time

a = (v - u) / t

a = (0 - 30) / 4

a = - 30/ 4

a = - 7.5m/s^2

Therefore,

Force exerted = mass(m) × acceleration(a)

Force exerted = 1000kg × (-7.5)m/s^2

Force exerted = - 7500N

Two cars A and B, travel in a straight line. The distance of A from the starting point is given as a function of time by x????(?
Norma-Jean [14]

Answer:

a) They are in the same point

b) t = 0 s, t = 2.27 s, t = 5.73 s

c) t = 1 s, t = 4.33 s

d) t = 2.67 s

Explanation:

Given equations are:

x_{a}(t) = at+bt^2

x_{b}(t) = ct^2-dt^3

Constants are:

a = 2.60 m/s, b = 1.20 m/s^2, c= 2.80 m/s^2, d = 0.20 m/s^3

a) "Just after leaving the starting point" means that t = 0. So, if we look the equations, both x_a(t) and x_b(t) depend on t and don't have constant terms.

So both cars A and B are in the same point.

b) Firstly, they are in the same point in x = 0 at t = 0. But for generalized case, we must equalize equations and solve quadratic equation where roots will give us proper t value(s).

at+bt^2 = ct^2-dt^3

2.6t + 1.2t^2 = 2.8t^2 - 0.2t^3\\0.2t^2 - 1.6t + 2.6 = 0\\t^2 - 8t + 13 = 0

t_1 = 4 - \sqrt{3} = 2.27 s, t_1 = 4 + \sqrt{3} = 5.73 s

c) Since the distance isn't changing, the velocities are equal. To find velocities, we need to take the derivatives of both equations with respect to time and equalize them.

v_a(t) = \frac{d}{d(t)}x_a(t) = a + 2bt \\v_b(t) = \frac{d}{d(t)}x_b(t) = 2ct - 3dt^2\\a+2bt = 2ct - 3dt^2\\3dt^2+2(b-c)t+a = 0\\0.6t^2-3.2t+2.6 = 0

t_1 = 1 s, t_2 = 4.33 s

d) For same acceleration, we we need to take the derivatives of velocity equations with respect to time and equalize them.

a_a(t) = \frac{d}{d(t)}v_a(t) = 2b \\a_b(t) = \frac{d}{d(t)}v_b(t) = 2c - 6dt\\2b = 2c - 6dt\\3dt = c - b\\t = (c - b)/3d = (2.8 - 1.2)/(3*0.2) = 2.67 s

Substances can undergo physical changes or chemical changes. what is the difference between these two kinds of changes
soldi70 [24.7K]
Physical changes are those change which just externally or physically change the state of the object . for example : water boils and evaporates... here the state is just changing from liquid to vapour while the composition is the same.

chemical changes are those which bring about a change in the composition of a substance. for example: burning of paper changes into ash .

: A honeybucket man is carrying his load. He has a pole 2 m long with a bucket hanging from each end. The buckets have a mass of
nasty-shy [4]

Answer:

Explanation:

Using the principle of moment, assuming the rod is uniform rod of mass 1 kg

the center of mass of the rod will be at 1 m

assuming the system is in equilibrium,

clockwise moment = anticlockwise moment

let the distance of the man shoulder be x from the center of gravity and also is the pivot point

total mass of bucket + mass of honey = 2kg + 3 kg =  5 kg for rear bucket and

2kg + 5 kg = 7 kg for front bucket

( 5kg × ( 1+x)) + ( 1 kg × x) = 7 kg × ( 1 - x)

5 + 5 x + x = 7 - 7x

5 + 6x = 7 - 7x

6x + 7x = 7 - 5

13x = 2

x = 2 / 13 = 0.154 m

the honeybucket man's shoulder is 0.154 m from the center of the pole ( forward ).
