The formula you would use to find the amount of bacteria is a(1+r/n)^nt

1000(1 + 0.06/1)^1t

t = 4

1000(1.06)^4

1000(1.2624769)

1262.47

since you cant have .47 bacteria, we round down to 1262.

Therefore your answer is #2 which is 1262 bacteria.

Answer:

Do you mean to round the number 653,500,653,500,653,500? Or do you mean to round the number 653,500? If so, for 653,500, the digit in the thousand's place is 5, so it's already rounded to the nearest thousands place.
