Answer:

For an object resting upon a non-accelerating surface, the normal force is equal to the ... Suppose that a person weighs 800 N and sits at rest upon a table. ... applying a downward force of 200 N. With the additional downward force of 200 N acting upon the person, the total upward force must be 1000 N.

At a point 1.2 m out from the hinge, 14.0 N force is exerted at an angle of 27 degrees to the moment arm in a plane which is per
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

\tau = 7.63 Nm

Explanation:

As we know that moment of force is given as

\tau = \vec r \times \vec F

now we have

\vec r = 1.2 m

\vec F = 14 N

now from above formula we have

\tau = r F sin\theta

here we know that

\theta = 27 degree

so we have

\tau = (1.2)(14) sin27

\tau = 7.63 Nm

A constant force is applied to an object, causing the object to accelerate at 10 m/s^2. What will the acceleration be if: a) The
Liula [17]
What you need to know is that the force is

F=ma

The force is the product of mass and acceleration

this means that the acceleration is

a=F/m

a) The force is halved?
this means that f will be \frac{F}{2} now:

a=\frac{F}{2m}

So the accelaration will also he halved (it's the original acceleratation divided by 2)

 b) The object's mass is halved?
a=\frac{F}{m/2}=a=\frac{F2}{m}

which is the original acceleration times two!! so it will double

c) The force and the object's mass are both halved?
now we have

a=\frac{F/2}{m/2}=a=\frac{2F}{2m}=a=\frac{F}{m}

so they will cancel each other out and the acceleration will stay the same!
