M=43.2 g
v₁=63 ml
v₂=74 ml

p=m/v=m/(v₂-v₁)

p=43.2/(74-63)=3.927 g/ml

Answer:

\rho = 3.93 \frac{g}{ml}

Explanation:

Hi, when putting the stone in the water it moves a volume of water equal to its own volume. So, if the initial volume in the cylinder is 63 ml and the final is 74 ml, the stone's volume can be calculated as:

V=74ml -63ml

V=11ml

Now, you know the weigh and the volume of the philosopher's stone. The definition of density is mass per volume:

\rho = \frac{m}{V}

\rho = \frac{43.2g}{11ml}

\rho = 3.93 \frac{g}{ml}

Salutations!

<span>In a laboratory experiment, John uses a mesh to separate soil particles from water. Which technique of separation is he using?

The technique that John is using is the filtration technique. Filtration is a technique to separate the solid which is insoluble from the liquid. For instance: Sand and water, sand is insoluble, thus it stays in the filter paper, while the water proceeds through the filter paper.

Hope I helped :D</span>
