Please help! the mass of an object is measured on a pan balance with a precision of 0.005 g and the recorded value of 128.01 g.
inysia [295]

Yes, these two objects have different masses.

<h3>How can we calculate that this statement is right ?</h3>

To calculate the precision of mass we are using the formula,

Precision(P) = \frac{m_1}{m_1+\triangle m}

Or,\trianglem=\frac{m_1}{P}-m₁

For the first case we are given,

m₁= The recorded value of mass

= 128.01 g

P= Precision of the mass

=0.005g

So, according to the formula, \trianglem will be,

\trianglem=  \frac{128.01}{0.005}-128.01

Or,\trianglem=25,473.99 g

Or,\trianglem=25.47 Kg

For the first case \trianglem is 25.47 Kg..

For the second case we are given,

m₁= The recorded value of mass

= 0.13 Kg

P= Precision of the mass

=0.005 Kg

So, according to the formula, \trianglem will be,

\trianglem= \frac{0.13}{0.005}-0.13

Or,\trianglem= 25.87 kg

For the second case \trianglem is 25.87 Kg.

For the two cases  \trianglem has different values, 25.47 Kg≠25.87 Kg.

Therefore we can conclude that, these two objects have different masses.

What would happen if I removed the battery from the circuit?
ira [324]

Answer:

The current would stop

Explanation:

Electric currents are interesting because they carry little to no momentum. As soon as you remove a power source, the whole current halts.

A car (mass = 1200 kg) is traveling at 31.1 m/s when it collides head-on with a sport utility vehicle (mass = 2830 kg) traveling
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

13.18 m/s

Explanation:

Let the velocity of sports utility car is

-u as it is moving in opposite direction.

mc = 1200 kg, uc = 31.1 m/s

ms = 2830 kg, us = - u = ?

Using conservation of momentum

mc × uc + ms × us = 0

1200 × 31.1 - 2830 × u = 0

u = 13.18 m/s

At a particular instant, a hot air balloon is 100 m in the air and descending at a constant speed of 2.0 m/s. at this exact inst
rewona [7]

Answer:

86.4 m  horizontal from landing spot

Explanation:

Find out how long before the ball hits the ground

 vertical speed  of ball = -2  m/s     gravity = - 9.81 m/s^2

find time to hit ground from 100 m

          ( height will be<u> zero</u> when it hits the ground)

<u>0 </u>=  100  - 2 t  - 1/2 ( 9.81) t^2

        use Quadratic Formula to find t = 4.32 seconds

              horizontal speed of ball = 20 m/s

in 4.32 seconds it will travel horizontally   20  m/s * 4.32 s = 86.4 m
