The primary 40-turn coil of an ideal transformer is supplied with 120 V (rms). If the rms voltage output of the secondary coil i

s 15 V, how many turns are in the secondary coil, and what type of transformer is this

Answer:

No. of turns in secondary coil are 5.

Transformer Type: STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER

Explanation:

The relationship of the no. of turns in transformer secondary and primary coils with their voltages is known as the turn ration. The formula for turns ratio is as follows:

Np/Ns = Vp/Vs

where,

Np = No. of turns in primary coil = 40

Ns = No. of turns in secondary coil = ?

Vp = Voltage supplied to primary coil = 120 V

Vs = Voltage output of secondary coil = 15 V

Therefore,

40/Ns = 120 V/15 V

Ns = 40/8

<u>Ns = 5</u>

TYPE OF TRANSFORMER:

Since, this transformer decreases the voltage value at the output. Hence it is a <u>STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER.</u>

how many days does it take a team of drivers to drive a truck california and back to lansing if the drivers average 15m/s includ
malfutka [58]

4days and 12hours

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Average speed  = 15m/s

Distance = 1800 miles

Unknown:

Number of days = ?

Solution:

Speed is the rate of change of distance with time;

          Speed = \frac{distance}{time}

Since the unknown is number of days, it is a measure of time:

    Time = \frac{distance }{speed}

The distance from California to Lansing is 1800miles. The journey takes the truck drivers to and fro. It is a two way trip;

 Total distance = 1800 miles x 2 = 3600miles

We need to convert miles to meters since that is the unit we can conveniently work with;

            1 mile = 1609.34m

          3600 miles =  3600 x 1609.34

                              = 5793638m

Inputting the values in the equation:

          Time = \frac{ 5793638}{15} = 386242.53s

Now we need to convert to day;

In a day, = 60 x 60 x 24 = 86,400s

                 1 day = 86400s

 Therefore;

  The number of days = \frac{386242.53}{86400} = 4.47days

This implies that it will take them 4 days and approximately 12 hours.

Como anticipan la caída del proyectil, con movimiento parabólico para que el misil no haga daño
Elena L [17]

Answer:

x=(v_{o})_{x} *t\\where:\\(v_{o})_{x} = velocidad inicial  x-component [m/s]\\t= time [s]

Para poder encontrar el tiempo debemos utilizar la siguiente ecuación:

y=(v_{y} )_{o}*t-0.5*g*t^{2}  \\donde:\\(v_{y} )_{o}= velocidad inicial componente y [m/s]\\g = gravity = 9.81 [m/s^2]\\t = time [s]
