Answer : The energy change is, 49.09 kJ

Explanation :

First law of thermodynamic : It states that the energy can not be created or destroyed, it can only change or transfer from one state to another state.

As per first law of thermodynamic,

\Delta E=q+w

or,

\Delta E=q+(-P\Delta V)

\Delta E=q-P\Delta V

where,

\Delta E = energy change

q = heat absorb = 49.6 kJ = 49600 J     (1 kJ = 1000 J)

P = pressure = 4.00 atm

\Delta V = change in volume = 1.25 L

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get:

\Delta E=q-P\Delta V

\Delta E=(49600J)-(4.00atm\times 1.25L)

\Delta E=(49600J)-(5L.atm)

As we know that, (1 L.atm = 101.325 J)

\Delta E=(49600J)-(5\times 101.325J)

\Delta E=(49600J)-(506.625J)

\Delta E=49093.375J=49.09kJ

Therefore, the energy change is, 49.09 kJ

A ball is launched from ground level and hits the ground again after an elapsed time of 4 seconds and after traveling a horizont
jeka94

Answer:

1)a. It is constant the whole time the ball is in free-fall.

2)b. = 14 m/s

3) e. = 19.6 m/s

Explanation:

1) given that the only force acting on the ball is gravity, gravity acts along the vertical axis. Since no other force acts on the ball then the horizontal velocity will remain constant all through the flight since there is no horizontal force acting on the ball.

2) speed = distance/time

horizontal distance = 56m

Time = 4 seconds

Speed = 56m/4s = 14m/s

3) acceleration due to gravity g = 9.8m/s^2

Initial vertical velocity = u

Final vertical velocity = v = -u

Using the law of motion;

v = u + at

a = acceleration = -g = -9.8m/s^2

t = time of flight = 4

Substituting the values;

-u = u - 4(9.8)

-2u = -4(9.8)

u = -4(9.8)/-2

u = 2(9.8) = 19.6 m/s

Initial vertical velocity = u = 19.6 m/s

If 710- nm and 660- nm light passes through two slits 0.65 mm apart, how far apart are the second-order fringes for these two wa
alexira [117]

0.23 mm far apart are the second-order fringes for these two wavelengths on a screen 1.5 m away.

Given wavelengths 710nm and 660nm,0.65mm apart two slits, and a screen 1.5m away.

Position of n the order fringe = n λ D / d

for n = 2

position = 2 λ D / d

λ = 710 nm , D = 1.5m

d = .65 x 10⁻³

position 1 = 2 x 710 x 10⁻⁹ x 1.5 / .65 x 10⁻³

= 3276.92 x 10⁻⁶ m

= 3.276x 10⁻³ m

= 3.276mm .

For λ = 660 nm

position = 2 λ D / d

λ = 660 nm , D = 1.5 m

d = .65 x 10⁻³

position 2 = 2 x 660 x 10⁻⁹ x 1.5 / .65 x 10⁻³

= 3046.15 x 10⁻⁶ m

= 3.046 x 10⁻³ m

= 3.046 mm .

Difference between their position

= 3.276mm ₋ 3.046 mm

= 0.23 mm .
