Mass

Explanation:

The word that best describes the amount of matter an object contains is called its mass.

All particles the makes up a substance adds up to its mass.

The more the particles an object is made up of, the more massive it is.

  • Mass is usually expressed in units of grams, pounds, ounces etc.
  • Special equipment have been calibrated and designed to take measurements of mass. Examples are weighing scale, beam balance, spring balance.
  • Mass of a substance is the same every where at any time.

Katen [24]

N₂ / N₁ = 13.3

A transformer is a device that changes the voltage in the primary, causing a voltage to be induced in the secondary. The expression for this voltage ratio is

ΔV₂ = N₂ /N₁ ΔV₁

where N is the number of windings on each side and V2 and V1 are the voltages in the secondary and primary, respectively.

They state that the primary voltage in this instance is 9.0 V and the secondary voltage is 120 V.

ΔV₂ /ΔV₁ = N₂ / N₁

N₂ / N₁ = 120/9

N₂ / N₁ = 13.3

A 9.0-V battery (with nonzero resistance) and switch are connected in series across the primary coil of a transformer. The secondary coil is connected to a light bulb that operates on 120 V. Determine the ratio of the secondary to primary turns needed for the bell's transformer. Determine the ratio of the secondary to primary turns needed for the bells transformer. Ns/Np=?

What is the shadow zone of an earth quake?
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

It is the area on opposite side of the earth from an earthquake where no s waves are picked up by seismographs.

Explanation:

Shadow zone of an earthquake is one which is farthest from the epicenter. Hence it is not the area closest to earthquake.

In shadow zone only the S waves are stopped by whereas P waves through refracted, travel through and are measured in seismograph. Hence it is an area where there are few seismographs.

The zone is not constant and each epicenter has its own shadow zone. The shadow zone was caused by the inability of s waves to pass through the liquids. This proved the presence of liquid layer in earth's core. Hence the shadow zone is not the outer molten core of earth but the zone was caused by the molten core.

Hence the shadow zone of an earth quake  is the area on opposite side of the earth from an earthquake where no s waves are picked up by seismographs.

What happens to the velocity of an object when balanced force acts on it?
Pani-rosa [81]
When the entire group of forces acting on an object is balanced,
the individual forces all add up to zero, and the effect on the object
is the same as it would be if there were no force at all acting on it.

No force on it means no acceleration ... no change in speed or
direction of motion.

No change in speed or direction of motion means constant velocity.

A swimming pool is 25.0 ft. long, 18.5 ft. wide, and 9.0 ft. deep. When filled, the water level is 7.0 inches from the top. Disi
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

1.9841256 kg

Explanation:

Given;

Length of the swimming pool = 25.0 ft = 7.62 m   ( 1 ft = 0.3048 m )

Width of the swimming pool = 18.5 ft =  5.64 m

Depth of the pool = 9.0 ft =

Total depth of the water in the pool when filled = 9 ft - 7 inches = 2.56 m

now,

Volume of the water in the pool = Length × Width × Depth

or

Volume of the water in the pool = 7.62 × 5.64 × 2.56 = 110.2292 m³

also,

1 m³ = 1000 L

thus,

110.2292 m³ = 110229.2 L

also it is given that 18 mg of Cl is added to 1 liter of water

therefore,

In 110229.2 L of water Cl added will be = 110229.2 × 18 = 1984125.6 mg

or

= 1.9841256 kg
