In order to calculate his velocity for the whole session, we need to know ...

(1).  the straight-line distance from the start-point to the end-point;

(2).  the direction from start-point to end-point

(3).  the elapsed time from start to finish

We could find (1) and (2) if we knew how much time he spent on each segment of the training run.  Then we could calculate the distance covered on each segment, and construct the straight-line displacement and direction of the whole thing.

For (3), no time information is given anywhere in the question, so it's pretty hard to come up with a total time.

We definitely have to mark this one "<em>INSUFFICIENT GIVEN INFORMATION</em>".  We just don't have what we need in order to solve it.

Answer:

Because the log is hollow or is less dense

Explanation:

If a log has little density, it will float. While sand is dense and completely solid, so it will sink.

A student wants to use a ramp to move boxes into a truck bed that is 3 m high. He has a choice of 2 different ramps. The length
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

The correct option is;

B. 8 m, because he has to apply less force over a greater distance

Explanation:

In the given question, in order for the student to lift the boxes onto the tuck with less amount of force, he applies the principle of Mechanical Advantage

The mechanical advantage is given by the measure by which a force is amplified through the use of a tool

Given that the work done = The force × The distance, we have

F₁ × d₁ = F₂ × d₂, which gives;

d₁/d₂ = F₂/F₁

Where;

F₁ = The input force

F₂ = The output force

d₁ = The input distance

d₂ = The output distance

The Mechanical advantage, MA = d₁/d₂ = F₂/F₁

Therefore, when the input distance is increased the input force will be reduced for a given output force

A chair of mass 15.0 kg is sitting on the horizontal floor; the floor is not frictionless. You push on the chair with a force of
Neko [114]

Answer: 185.5672566

Explanation:  The friction is not relevant

Normal reaction is the force perpendicular to the surface.

this force resists the downwards forces applied which are gravity and a component of the applied force.

A soccer ball is kicked with an initial velocity 13 m/s at an angle of 35 degrees from the horizontal. What is the maximum heigh
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

The maximum height reached by the ball is 2.84 m

Explanation:

Given;

initial velocity of the soccer, u = 13 m/s

angle of projection, θ = 35°

The maximum height reached by the ball = ?

Apply the following kinematic equation, to determine the maximum height reached by the ball.

Maximum height (H) is given as;

H = \frac{U^2sin^2\theta}{2g} \\\\H = \frac{(13)^2(sin \ 35^0)^2}{2*9.8}\\\\H = 2.84 \ m

Therefore, the maximum height reached by the ball is 2.84 m
