SI units are the universally accepted standard units to measure quantity.

There are 7 basic parameters with each having an SI unit of its own

Kilograms are one of these SI units. Kilograms are used to measure Mass.

All the other units used to measure mass are derived from this basic unit.

eg:1000 g is equivalent to 1 kg

therefore quantity used to measure in kg is Mass

Can sound pass through space? why or why not?
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

Sound waves are travelling vibrations of particles in media such as air, water or metal. So it stands to reason that they cannot travel through empty space, where there are no atoms or molecules to vibrate.

Dwayne filled a small balloon with air at 298.5 K. He put the balloon into a bucket of water, and the water level in the bucket
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer : The volume of the balloon will be, 0.494 liters

Solution :

Charles' Law : It is defined as the volume of the gas is directly proportional to the temperature of the gas at constant pressure and number of moles.

V\propto T

or,

\frac{V_1}{T_1}=\frac{V_2}{T_2}

where,

V_1 = initial volume of gas = ?

V_2 = final volume of gas = 0.54 L

T_1 = initial temperature of gas = 273.15 K

T_2 = final temperature of gas = 298.5 K

Now put all the given values in the above equation, we get the initial volume of balloon.

\frac{V_1}{273.15K}=\frac{0.54L}{298.5K}

V_1=0.494L

Therefore, the volume of the balloon will be, 0.494 liters

Mass transfer rate in convection is ..... mass transfer in conduction
lana66690 [7]

Answer:

(a) more than

Explanation:

Conduction:

Transfer of heat due to direct contact between two mediums at different temperatures, without having any of the bodies traveling. Therefore, conduction heat transfer occurs by the transfer of momentum (molecular) from always the same group of molecules in one medium to another group of molecules in another medium.

Example: Heat transfer INSIDE a solid.

Convention:

Transfer of heat or mass due to at least one traveling medium, where the transfer of momentum is not bounded anymore to the same groups of molecules. Molecules moving to transfer their momentum and keep flowing to the next group, also allowing other molecules behind to do the same. Example: heat transfer by the wind.

Hence, the Mass transfer rate in convection is more than mass transfer in conduction
