Group 1A (or IA) of the periodic table are the alkali metals: hydrogen (H), lithium (Li), sodium (Na), potassium (K), rubidium (

Rb), cesium (Cs), and francium (Fr). These are (except for hydrogen) soft, shiny, low-melting, highly reactive metals, which tarnish when exposed to air. The name comes from the fact that when these metals or their oxides are dissolved in water, a basic (alkaline) solution results. Because the alkali metals are very reactive, they are seldom (if ever) found in their elemental form in nature, and are usually found as ionic compounds (except for hydrogen). The alkali metals have only one valence electron in their highest-energy orbitals (ns1). In their respective periods, they are the largest elements and have the lowest ionization energies. The valence electron is easily lost, forming an ion with a_________

The density of an element is 19.3 g/cm^3. What is its density in kg/m^3?
Karolina [17]
First, you need to know 1 kg = 10^3 g. And 1 m^3 = 10^6 m^3. So the 1 g/cm3 = 10^3 kg/m3. So the answer is 1.93*10^4 kg/m3.

Your bedroom gets direct sunlight through a window during the hottest times of the day. you ask your mom to turn down the thermo
Kipish [7]

If you take your mom's advice, a. the room will be cooled by minimizing heat transfer by reflection.

The Sun is heating your room by its radiation.

The aluminium foil is shiny, so it reflects the Sun’s radiation back outside the window.

Convection is the transfer of heat caused by the air moving around in your room.

Conduction occurs only when a hot object is in contact with a cooler object.

Draw a bond-line structure for CH3CH2O(CH2)2CH(CH3)2.

Include Lone Pairs in your answer.
mash [69]

Answer:

See explanation and image attached

Explanation:

A bond line structure refers to any structure of a covalent molecule wherein the covalent bonds present in the molecule are represented with a single line for each level of bond order.

The bond-line structure of CH3CH2O(CH2)2CH(CH3)2 has been shown in the image attached. We know that oxygen has a lone pair of electrons and this has been clearly shown also in the image attached.
