A battery with an internal resistance ofrand an emf of 10.00 V is connected to a loadresistorR=r. As the battery ages, the inter
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

The current is reduced to half of its original value.

Explanation:

  • Assuming we can apply Ohm's Law to the circuit, as the internal resistance and the load resistor are in series, we can find the current I₁ as follows:

        I_{1} = \frac{V}{R_{int} +r_{L} }

  • where Rint = r and RL = r
  • Replacing these values in I₁, we have:

       I_{1} = \frac{V}{R_{int} +r_{L} } = \frac{V}{2*r} (1)

  • When the battery ages, if the internal resistance triples, the new current can be found using Ohm's Law again:

       I_{2} = \frac{V}{R_{int} +r_{L} } = \frac{V}{(3*r) +r} = \frac{V}{4*r}  (2)

  • We can find the relationship between I₂, and I₁, dividing both sides, as follows:

        \frac{I_{2} }{I_{1} } = \frac{V}{4*r} *\frac{2*r}{V} = \frac{1}{2}

  • The current when the internal resistance triples, is half of the original value, when the internal resistance was r, equal to the resistance of the load.

A bus slows with constant acceleration from 24.0 m/s to 16.0 m/s and moves 50.0 m in the process. (a) How much further does it t
navik [9.2K]

Answer:

(a) Bus will traveled further a distance of 40 m

(b) It will take 7.5 sec to stop the bus

Explanation:

We have given initial velocity of the bus u = 24 m/sec

And final velocity v = 16 m/sec

Distance traveled in this process s = 50 m

From third equation of motion we know that v^2=u^2+2as

16^2=24^2+2\times a\times 50

a=-3.2m/sec^2

(a) Now as the bus finally stops so final velocity v = 0 m/sec

So v^2=u^2+2as

0^2=24^2-2\times 3.2\times s

s= 90 m

So further distance traveled by bus = 90-50 =40 m

(b) Now as the bus finally stops so final velocity v= 0 m/sec

Initial velocity u = 24 m/sec

Acceleration a=-3.2m/sec^2

So time t=\frac{v-u}{a}=\frac{0-24}{-3.2}=7.5sec

An incompressible fluid flows at .252 m/s through a 44 diameter (circular cross section) pipe. The pipe widens to a square cross
Serggg [28]

ANSWER:

The easiest way to get a fairly accurate measure of your water flow rate is to time yourself filling up a bucket. So for example if you fill up a 10 litre bucket in 1.5 minutes, then your flow rate will be: 10/1.5 = 6.66 Litres per minute.

Explain why ionic compounds are neutral even though they are made up of charged particles
Lelechka [254]
Ionic compounds are made up of two charged species, a cation (+) and an anion (–).

The charges must balance out to zero for a stable ionic compound, because ionic bonds are formed between two charged species. They form in ratios according to their charges to balance out.

The tub of a washer goes into its spin cycle, starting from rest and gaining angular speed steadily for 7.00 s, at which time it
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

The no. of revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion is = 52.51 revolutions

Explanation:

Given data

\omega_1 = 0

\omega_2 = 5 \frac{rev}{sec}

Time taken = 7 sec

(1). The angular acceleration is given by

\alpha = \frac{d \omega}{dt}

\alpha  = \frac{5}{7}

\alpha  = 0.714 \frac{rev}{s^{2} }

We know that from the equation of motion

\omega_2^{2} =  \omega_1^{2} + 2 \alpha \theta_1

5^{2} = 0 + 2 (0.714) \theta_1

\theta_1 = 17.5 \ rev  -------- (1)

(2). The angular acceleration is given by

\alpha = \frac{d \omega}{dt}

\alpha = - \frac{5}{14}

\alpha = - 0.357 \frac{rev}{s^{2} }

We know that from the equation of motion

\omega_2^{2} =  \omega_1^{2} + 2 \alpha \theta_2

0^{2} = 5^{2} + 2 (-0.357) \theta_2

\theta_2 = 35.01 rev  -------  (2)

Total no of revolution made by the machine is

\theta = \theta_1 + \theta_2

\theta = 17.5 + 35.01

\theta = 52.51 rev

Therefore the no. of revolutions does the tub turn while it is in motion is = 52.51  rev
