Alice and Bob sit on a see saw, that consists of a uniform beam of mass 20kg and a fulcrum rock, that acts as a pivot point. The

length of the beam is 8m. The mass of Bob is 70 kg and mass of Alice is 50 kg. How far from Bob should the pivot point be so that the see saw is balanced and does not move?

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

Mass of alice M_a=50 kg

Mass of bob M_b=70 kg

Mass of beam M=20 kg

Suppose fulcrum is at distance of d from bob thus From diagram

Equating torque i.e. torque of Bob,Alice and beam must cancel out each other to be balanced

500\times (8-d)+20\times (4-d)=70\times d

400-50d+80-2d=70d

480=140d

d=\frac{480}{140}

d=3.43 m

Two long parallel conductors carries I1 and I2 in opposite directions. Determine the magnetic field between the wires
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

B1 = μ_o•I1/2πr

Explanation:

According to the right hand rule, we can say that the magnetic field at the second wire due to the current being carried in first wire is given by;

B1 = μ_o•I1/2πr

Where;

r is distance that separates the two wires

μ_o is a constant known as permeability of free space

I1 is current in wire 1

The following table shows the duration of a year on some unknown planets of equal mass. Duration of Year Planet Duration of Year
Soloha48 [4]

Gravitational force between sun and planet is given by,

F=\frac{GMm}{r^{2}}

Thus, The force of gravitation is inversely proportional to the distance.

Kepler's law states that the square of period of planet is proportional to cube of semi major axis of its orbit.

The time period of planet is more when the gravitational force is less.

Thus, planet Y is closer to earth because sun exert greater gravitational force than planet Z.

What is transferred by a force moving an object through a distance?
Komok [63]
When you apply force to move an object at a distance, you are applying work. And work is energy in transit. The answer is letter D. For example, you see a cart at a distance. You observe that it is not moving. You want to transfer it to your backyard. You apply force to the cart and observed that the cart is not at the same position as it was before. You are applying work to the cart by transferring your energy to it.
