What determines the state of matter for any substance
Andrews [41]

Amount of molecules present in the substance

Explanation:

In general state of matter is classified into three types based on the amount of molecules present in the matter. They are widely classified as

  • SOLID
  • LIQUID
  • GAS

SOLID

In solid the molecules are tightly packed without any free space to move inside. Therefore Solids  have strong Inter-Molecular Force of attraction and have definite shape and volume.

LIQUID

In Liquid the molecules are  not tightly packed. So that molecules move  freely   inside the matter. Therefore Liquids  have Weaker Inter-Molecular Force of attraction and have no definite shape and  no definite volume.

GAS

In Gas the molecules are loosely packed with  more  free space to move inside. Therefore Gas  have the weakest Inter-Molecular Force of attraction and don't have definite shape and  definite volume.

A 500 pF capacitor is charged up so that it has 10μC of charge on its plates. The capacitor is then quicklyconnected to a 10 H i
klio [65]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that,

A capacitor of capacitance

C = 500pF

Charge on capacitor is

Q = 10μC

Capacitor is then connected to an inductor of inductance 10H

L = 10H

Since we want to calculate the maximum energy stored by the inductor, then, we will assume all the energy from the capacitor is transfer to the inductor

So energy stored in capacitor can be determined by using

U = ½CV²

Then, Q = CV

Therefore V = Q/C

U = ½ C • (Q/C)² = ½ C × Q²/C²

U = ½Q² / C

Then,

U = ½ × (10 × 10^-6)² / (500 × 10^-9)

U = 1 × 10^-4 J

U = 0.1 mJ

So the energy stored in this capacitor is transfers to the inductor.

So, energy stored in the inductor is 0.1mJ

B. Current through the inductor

Energy in the inductor is given as

U = ½Li²

1 × 10^-4 = ½ × 10 × i²

1 × 10^-4 = 5× i²

i² = 1 × 10^-4 / 5

i² = 2 × 10^-5

I = √(2×10^-5)

I = 4.47 × 10^-3 Amps

Then,

I = 4.47 mA

A golfer strikes a 0.059-kg golf ball with a force of 290 N. If the ball moves with a velocity of 69 m/s,
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

0.014s

Explanation:

Given parameters:

mass of golf ball  = 0.059kg

force applied  = 290N

velocity = 69m/s

initial velocity  = 0m/s

Unknown:

Time of contact  = ?

Solution;

We know that momentum is the quantity of motion of body possess;

  Momentum  = mass x velocity

  Momentum  = 0.059 x 69  = 4.1kgm/s

Also; impulse is the effect of the force acting on a body;

  impulse  = force x time  = momentum

  So;

            Force x time  = momentum

                  Time  = \frac{momentum}{force }    = \frac{4.1}{290}    = 0.014s

A 4.40-m-long, 500 kg steel uniform beam extends horizontally from the point where it has been bolted to the framework of a new
icang [17]

Answer:

Torque=13798.4 N.m

Explanation:

Given data

Mass of beam m₁=500 kg

Mass of the person m₂=70 kg

length of steel r₁=4.40m

center of gravity of the beam is at r₂=r₁/2 =4.40/2 = 2.20m

To find

Torque

Solution

Torque due to beam own weight

T_{1}=m_{1}gr_{1}\\ T_{1}=500*2.2*9.8\\T_{1}=10780N.m

Torque due to person

T_{2}=m_{2}r_{2}g\\T_{2}=70*(4.40)*(9.8)\\T_{2}=3018.4 N.m

Now for total torque

T_{total}=T_{1}+T_{2}\\T_{total}=10780+3018.4\\T_{total}=13798.4N.m
