Answer: The temperature of the gas reduced to 400K.

Explanation:

Stated that ; The pressure remains the same, that is initial and final pressure equals 1atm.

Applying Charles Law

V1/T1 = V2/T2

Initial volume V1 = 1

Final volume V2 = 1/2 (halved)

Initial temperature T1 =800K

Final temperature T2 = ?

(1/800) = (1/2)/T2

T2 = 800/2

T= 400K

Therefore, when the volume is halved, the temperature reduced also to half ( 400K)

Which state of matter would be described as having highly energized, charged particles that move extremely fast
uranmaximum [27]
There are four states of matter, solid, liquid, gas and plasma. Their formation is as when solid is heated it converts into liquid, liquid on heating converts into gases and gases on heating converts into plasma.

Plasma:
           Plasma is the fourth state of matter. It is the highest energy state of matter.

Composition:
           Plasma is made up of negatively charged and positively charged particles.

Result:
           The answer to your question is Plasma.

Determine the bonding type for boron trihydride given the electronegativity on the Pauling scale for boron is 2.0 and for hydrog
Anika [276]

Answer: The bond between boron and hydrogen in boron trihydride is covalent bond.

Explanation:

The type of bonding between the atoms forming a compound is determined by using the electronegativity difference between the atoms. According to the pauling's electronegativity rule:

  • If \Delta \chi=0, then the bond is non-polar.
  • If \Delta \chi\leq 1.7, then the bond will be covalent.
  • If \Delta \chi>1.7, then the bond will be ionic.

We are given:

Electronegativity for boron = 2.0

Electronegativity for hydrogen = 2.1

\Delta \chi=\chi_{H}-\chi_{B}\\\\\Delta \chi=2.1-2.0=0.1

As, \Delta \chi is less than 1.7 and not equal to 0. Hence, the bond between boron and hydrogen is covalent bond.
