AED (Automatic External Defibrillator ) is a device that check the hearth rhythm and that if needed can send a electric shock to the heart, in order to restore an normal rhythm. 
After providing an AED shock , give CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation :<span>chest compression and artificial ventilation </span>) until emergency medical help arrives or until the person begins to move.
