The rock had a mass of 500g and a density of 10 g/cm3. What is the volume of the rock

Chemistry

lets work back. The formula to find density is d= m/v. fill in the values you know.

10 = 500/v

well, we don't need to use a calculator. dividing by ten is going to the left once, and removing one value of ten.

this means you have a volume of 50.

Hope this helps! :D

a square boat made from iron has overall dimensions of 2.00 cm x 11.0 cm x 11.0 cm. it has a mass of 213 g. what is its density
Rus_ich [418]
Volume:

2.00 x 11.0 x 11.0 => 242 cm³

mass : 213 g

D = m / V

D = 213 / 242

D = 0.880 g/cm³

Answer B

hope this helps!

A galvanic cell whose cell reaction is 2Fe3+(aq) + Zn(s) → 2Fe2+(aq) + Zn2+(aq) has a cell potential of 0.72V. What is the maxim
sesenic [268]

Answer:

138.96kJ is the maximum electrical work

Explanation:

The maximum electrical work that can be obtained from a cell is obtained from the equation:

W = -nFE

Where W is work in Joules,

n are moles of electrons = 2mol e- because half-reaction of Zn is:

Zn(s) → Zn²⁺(aq) + 2e⁻

F is faraday constant = 96500Coulombs/mol

E is cell potential = 0.72V

Replacing:

W = -2mol*96500Coulombs/mol*0.72V

W = - 138960J =

138.96kJ is the maximum electrical work

Answer: The pressure of the He is 2.97 atm

Explanation:

According to Dalton's law, the total pressure is the sum of individual pressures.

p_{total}=p_{N_2}+p_{O_2}+p_{He}.

Given : p_{total} =total pressure of gases = 6.50 atm

p_{N_2} = partial pressure of Nitrogen = 1.23 atm

p_{O_2} = partial pressure of oxygen = 2.3 atm

p_{He} = partial pressure of Helium = ?

putting in the values we get:

6.50atm=1.23atm+2.3atm+p_{He}

p_{He}=2.97atm

The pressure of the He is 2.97 atm

Determine the oxidation number of each element in these compounds or ions. (a) au2(seo4)3 (gold(iii) selenate) au = se = o = (b)
Stels [109]
                                                    Au₂(SeO₄)₃

                                         O = -2 × 4 = -8
                                             Se  =  + 6
So,
                                            (+6 - 8) = -2

Means (SeO₄) contains -2 charge, Now multiply -2 by 3

                                             -2 ₓ 3 = -6
Means,
                             Au₂ + (-6) = 0

                            Au₂  = +6
Or,
                            Au  =  6 / 2

                            Au  = +3
Result:
                            Au  =  +3
                            Se  =  +6
                            O   =  -2

                                                      Ni(CN)₂

Cyanide (CN⁻) contains -1 charge,
So,
                              N  =  -3
                              C  =  +2
Then,
                                         Ni + (-1)₂  =  0

                                               Ni - 2  =  0
Or,
                                                     Ni =  +2
Result:
                            N  =  -3
                            C  =  +2
                           Ni  =  +2
