Answer:

Explanation:

Given that

I= ∫r²dm

We need to integrate over the volume of the disc, which is not smart enough, so we brake the disc into rings and integrate from the center r=0 to r=R, as shown in attachment

Since we know the moment of inertial of a ring to be

I=mr²

We cannot integrate the r² with respect to m, so we are going to write dm as a function of r

dm

So we assume that

The ratio of the area of the rings to the whole disc is equal to ratio of their masses.

dm/M=2πrdr/πR²

Therefore,

dm=2rM/R² dr

So we are going to replace dm in the integral

I= ∫r²dm

I= ∫r²(2rM/R²) dr. From 0 to R

Where 2, M and R are constant,

I= 2M/R² ∫r³dr. From r=0 to r=R

I= 2M/R² (r⁴/4) From r=0 to r=R

I=2M/R² (R⁴/4 - 0)

I=2M/R² × R⁴/4

I=MR²/2.

This is the moment of inertial of the disc and it doesn't depend on the thickness of the disc.

Bats use a process called echolocation to find their food. This involves giving out sound waves that hit possible prey or food.
cupoosta [38]
The type of waves used by bats are sound waves. Most of the species use their larynx to produce ultrasound waves in the frequency range of 20 to 200 kilohertz.
These sound waves are echoed, reflected, by surroundings, in this case food or prey. These reflections are received by the specialized receptor cells in the ears of bats. The reflections are analyzed by the brain to make an image.
Fun fact: The brain cells of bats are also specialized to better analyze the frequency of ultrasound used by the bat.

an ice skater applies a horizontal force to a 20.-kilogram block on frictionless, level ice, causing the block to accelerate uni
stiv31 [10]
The only vertical forces are weight and normal force, and they balance since the surface is horizontal. The horizontal forces are the applied force (uppercase F) in the direction the block slides and the frictional force (lowercase f) in the opposite direction.

Apply Newton's 2nd Law in the horizontal direction:
ΣF = ma
F - f = ma
where f = µmg

F - µmg = ma
F = m(a +µg)
F = (20 kg)(1.4 m/s² + 0.28(9.8 m/s²)

F = 83 N
