Water will have the coefficient 2.

Explanation:

To balance the chemical equation the number of atoms of each element entering the reaction have to be equal to the number of atoms of each element leaving the reaction, in order to conserve the mass.

We have the following balanced chemical equation:

CH₄ (g)+ 2 O₂ (g)→ CO₂ (g)+ 2 H₂O (g)

The coefficient of water (H₂O) is the number you may be found in from of the molecular formula, which is number 2.

Answer:

\huge \boxed{\mathrm{2}}

\rule[225]{225}{2}

Explanation:

\sf CH_4+ O_2 \Rightarrow CO_2 + H_2O

Balancing the Hydrogen atoms on the right side,

\sf CH_4+ O_2 \Rightarrow CO_2 +2 H_2O

Balancing the Oxygen atoms on the left side,

\sf CH_4+ 2O_2 \Rightarrow CO_2 +2 H_2O

\rule[225]{225}{2}

A compound with the empirical formula, ch2, has a molar mass equal to 84.2 g/mol. what is the molecular formula for the compound
MatroZZZ [7]
<span>Mass of CH2 = 12 + 2 = 14 g/mol The number of CH2s there are. So since the total mass is 84.2 g/mol. The solution is 84.2/14 = 6.012 thus the answer is 6 There are 6(CH2) So the molecular formula is C6H12</span>
