Answer:

The possible structures are ketone and aldehyde.

Explanation:

Number of double bonds of the given compound is calculated using the below formula.

N_{db}=N_{c}+1-\frac{N_{H}+N_{Br}-N_{N}}{2}

N_{db}=Number of double bonds

N_{c} = Number of carbon atoms

N_{H} = Number of hydrogen atoms

N_{N} = Number of nitrogen atoms

The number of double bonds in the given formula - C_{4}H_{8}O

N_{db}= 4+1-\frac{8+0-0}{2}=1

The number of double bonds in the compound is one.

Therefore, probable structures is as follows.

(In attachment)

The structures I and III are ruled out from the probable structures because the signal in 13C-NMR appears at greater than 160 ppm.

alkene compounds I and II shows signal less than 140 ppm.

Hence, the probable structures III and IV are given as follows.

The carbonyl of structure I appear at 202 and ketone group of IV appears at 208 in 13C, which are greater than 160.

Hence, the molecular formula of the compound C_{4}H_{8}O having possible structure in which the signal appears at greater than 160 ppm are shown aw follows.

A fish tank measures 0.40 meter long by 0.20 meter wide by 0.30 meter high. What is the width of the tank in centimeters?
umka21 [38]
Well the width is 0.20 meters. Since there are a hundred centimeters in a meter, we just have to move the decimal point two times to the right to get a 20 centimeter width.

Tessa knows that the sea grape tree can grow well in areas of high st and poor soil. She has seen sea grape growing along the be
yanalaym [24]
The answer of this question is B. Tessa could use more plants and multiple trials

Explanation: In Tessa’s experiment, she has two sea grape plants and gives one pure water and the other a strong salt water solution. Tessa is trying to determine which amount of salt is the BEST for sea grape. With the experiment she set up however, she isn’t going to be able to determine which amount of salt is the BEST for the sea grape because she is only giving one sea grape plant salt. If Tessa were to have more sea grape plants and gave them all different amounts of salt, she could determine which amount of salt is best for the sea grape.

Hope this helped! If you have any questions about my answer feel free to comment on the question.

what is the purpose of the universal indicator? how does it help indicate a chemical reaction? does the indicator give any parti
Finger [1]
The purpose of an universal indicator is to test wether a solution is acid or if its a base. It changes colors according to the PH's. It helps a lot in the indication of a chemical reaction because it can say if <span>each component loses or gains protons depending upon the acidity or basicity of the solution being tested. An universal indicator can say if a determined solution proves to be endothermic or exothermic. If the solution is not tested as acid or base then we cannot knwo if there will be an endothermic reaction or an exhotermic one</span>

Would you expect a carbon atom to have the same mass as an oxygen atom
kramer
Its impossible coz carbon has isotopes C-12 and C-13 whereas oygen has isotopes 16<span>O, </span>17<span>O, and </span>18<span>O, so impossible. Hope it helps</span>

A block of iron has a mass of 826 g. What is the volume of the block of iron whose density at 25°C is 7.9
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

105

Explanation:

Density = mass/volume

therefore volume = mass/density
